1)Hey Roxy! So, what you have been up to?
My usual...slammin the skins!
Blowin the clarinet.
2)How was to be a member of the band with the biggest influence on the Hard
Rock?
I got into Rock'n Roll to kick some ass with music and have fun doing it!
If we influenced others to do the same...well then RIGHT ON!
3)Did Vixen suffer prejudices to be a female band playing Hard Rock in a moment
when men and his uncountables groupies use to dominate that world?
I didn'thave any problems of that nature when I played in my co-ed metal band
Madam X,
but playing in an all female band was a whole different story. Vixen had
legions of fans but had a real difficult time convincing record companies that
we were the real deal. Eventually we did get signed to EMI and the rest is
history.
4)Tell us about your V3's project, with Janet and Gina.
We had a great time rehearsing and recording the Tangerine CD.
Janet and Gina really clicked in the song writing, there was no stopping them.
We had many songs left over from
Tangerine so we've decided to mix these songs on a CD for future release.
5)In the earlier years it was very difficult to find girls playing drummers.
When did your love for the drumsticks start?
I fell in love with the drums at 14yrs of age.
I got hooked real quick. Maxine and I were determined to put together the best
female hard rock band ever!
We auditioned many talented girl sand guys.
My parents were totally cool letting us rumble the floors with constant thumping
and feedback! We ultimately ended up touring with 2 other male musicians in
our band Black Lace which was the first incarnation of Madam X.
6)Talk about 'Titania', your partnership with your sister Maxine.
Maxine and I always have and always will love heavy rock/metal.
We recorded some cool riffs she was working on and decided to release an EP.
She and I live in different states so it's taking us some time to get this
done.
The chemistry between us is still alive and kickin even after all these years.
7)Now I'll give you the name of some drummers and you'll tell me what you
think
abou them, right?
I'll make this easy and tell you I think Mike Portnoy, Tommy Aldridge, Carmine
Appice, John Bonham, Billy Cobham, Kenny Aaronoff, Vinnie Colliuta and Dennis
Chambers are just some of the drummers that blow my mind.
8)Which female bands from nowadays you like most?
Ugh?... Vixen
9)You have been on tour with the rock's greatest names like Whitesnake,Skid
Row,Aerosmith,Ozzy Osbourne,Scorpions,Deep Purple,Bon
Jovi,Kiss,Winger,Slaughter,Vince Neil,Bad Co.,Y&,White Lion. How was it?
Tell us
the backstage's gossips and the secrets!
All I can say is that being on tour is one of my life's greatest thrills, tour secrets stay secret!
10)Well, Roxy, thank you very much to conced us this interview, you rock!
Hope
see you in Brazil very soon!
Thank you Mary and ROCK ON!
