| 4. The abbey symbolizes how much the prince has and how little the people have. The abbey is supposed to be a place of prayer but prospero turns it into just a giant party place. When he locks himself in the abbey he not only attempts to shut the red death out but the people as well. It truly shows how all he cares about is himself. | ||
