Industrialization, good or bad?

Industrialization has shaped everything in our world today. Many bad things have happened because of it but at the same time many good things have also come from it. This is the main thing that many people have argued over. When people say that industrialization is bad then their saying that maybe they dont want their cell phone or maybe their TV. However when be say that industrialization is good then they say that they dont care about the environment and they are willing to destroy just to get new things. Back when industrialization began it seemed as a good thing because it created many new things to help people on their day to day basis and it also gave people many new jobs. Although these new jobs were very demanding, they made workers work nearly all day and most of the jobs were very dangerous, this increased the work related death rates during the time. Yet as the time of industry progressed then many people began to see its flaws. They started protests against it and rallied to stop what it was doing to the earth and many of the things living on it. Though there was no stopping industry, it grew strong and gave people more choices in life such as to go on a vacation or not or simply how to make more money. Nevertheless there were still many people against it even though it did so much for society and in general how the people lived. Many of the villages that were dieing because of either starvation or sickness began to get better since industrialization created more food production and basically gave people more than one pair of clothes to wear each day. Overall industry was a bad and yet very good thing. It gave happiness to the people but sadly at the same time destroyed the area around them.

Industry response to Whitney Cole

Whitney really gave an excellent description of how the industrial revolution impacted the world in both bad ways and good ways. She showed each aspect of the world that it affected from places such as cities which soon turned into sites for giant factories that made many of the people needs such as food, clothing, and other miscellaneous necessities. She discussed how the industrial revolution brought on big changes like great invention that minimized the effort that each worker had to put in however she also pointed out how this created a job shortage so it wasnt as great as it sounded. She also told that not all inventions went to the city dwellers. Some inventions like the seed drill were created. The seed drill like how she said deposited seeds in a row instead of spread out all over the land. Though this invention increased food production it also took many farmers out of work. I agree with what she said about all the factories and how even though they increased production of many different things it. On the downside it put many of the regular independent workers out of work. Also she included how child labor strickened much of the industrialized parts of the world. It told how little kids had to work and many of them died from the extreme working conditions they were put in. I do definitely agree whit Whitney when she tells how the industrial revolution led to many technical advancement in today technology driven world. She explains how it saved many lives in that time and also created new ones. However I must still say that even though industry has served the human race well it has also been killing us. Industry led to new kinds of industry today which now depletes the ozone layer and kills many vital parts of the earth. Whitney explains this concept of good industry and bad industry very well.
