| Childhood Martin Luther was born on November 10th, 1483 in Eisleban, Germany. Though before his name was Martin Luther he was called Martin Luder. He was born in a time when the world was very tense because of all the changes that were be awaited. After the birth of Martin his father took him to Manfield to make a better life for the family in mining copper instead of farming. In this change by 1484 the Luders aka the luthers became one of the most respected families in Manfield. Martins mother, was very disciplinary which was ok because for she had many children to look after and needed to have some way to keep them inline. By the time Martin began attending school he went to a Latin school of barbaric teachings named Lateinschule. In school Luther was a shy but yet very bright boy, most of this was because he feared the strict order that the school had. By 1497 Luther went to a German boarding school and then only one year later he left for a place called Eisenach where he lived with his relatives and continued his studies at the towns parish. Though his father was hoping that his true education would lie in the study of law. So Luther attended the University of Erfurt which was the best school of its time. Luther earned his Baccaleureat in 1502 which was the first level to complete at the school and then received his Masters degree in 1505. However his law schooling career was cut short when he swore to become a monk on July 2, 1505. When he showed the courage to do what he wanted to do and not listen to his father or friends he was definitely destined to become a great man. |
