Melanie Deanne Moore
(The Glad Bag Girl)
Fan Web Page

How did this webpage start?

Believe it or not, for the past several months I have enjoyed those Glad Bag Commercials  featuring  many famous celebrities such as Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, Ben Stein, Joan Rivers, Tommy Lasorda, Mike Ditka and  the Glad Bag Girl.  The Glad Bag Girl is a perky pretty gal with the funny voice who solves celebrity problems with Gad Bags!.  She has a way of  brightening up my day within the short time she is in this commercial. She is always happy, bubbly, perky, cheerful, etc, etc, etc.
She is funny, a delight to watch, and easy on the eyes too!  I had never seen her before, and thought to myself, this gal is too good for commercials, and is going to make it big some day.   She had a great comedic style of her own. Perhaps another Gracie Allen?

Then on Monday, May 12, of this year, NBC had a special called "Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of ‘Three’s Company’"  To my surprise, I saw the Glad Bag Girl playing the part of  Joyce DeWitt.  The show was great, and this little gal did a fantastic job as I knew she would.  I saw the other side of her acting ability.
Thanks to this show, I was able to find that the Glad Bag Girls  real name was Melanie Deanne Moore.

I live in Los Angeles, and about a week after the show aired,  I was in Champaign Illinois working on restoring the projection booth of an old movie theater called the ART theater.  One day I went to the local Steak & Shake Restaurant.  As I sat down at my table, and looked around the room, I saw a pretty lady at another table sitting with some friends.  She looked like the Glad Bag Girl, but it couldn't be. Not in Champaign Illinois.
A few minutes later I heard that voice.  It was Melanie!  Nobody in the world could imitate that voice.  I watched as a few of the waitresses had her autograph Steak & Shake place mats for them.  Melanie was just as pleasant and cheerful in real life as she was on TV!  Wish I had got an autograph too, but I respected her privacy.  Darn!

When I returned  home to Los Angeles, I did an internet search to find out more about Melanie's acting career,  and sure enough, she had done other work before the Glad Bag commercials.  She had done a few movies and sitcoms.
Melanie was on the sitcom
"Early Edition" - (1997) as Candace
"Cupid"- 1999, a regular as Jaclyn
"The Drew Carey Show"- (2003) as Teri

Melanie was in these motion pictures too!
The Opera Lover (1999) as Bibi
Ready to Rumble (2000) as  Wendy
Slackers (2002) as a  Pissed Off Co-Ed

I also read somewhere that she hosted a kids cartoon show in Chicago. Wish I could have seen that show.

Who is Melanie Deanne Moore?

I was surprised in my internet search that  she did not have an internet site.  She is on several internet web sites with other actors on sites about movies and TV shows she was on, but there is really no biographical information on her at all.  Who is Melanie Deanne Moore?  Is she is from Illinois?
This little actress is just wonderful, and I felt she should have a web site dedicated to her for all to enjoy.  I created this web site in hopes to gather information on Melanie and follow her career as it expands.   I just know she will be a BIG star some day.  I have never done this before, but she just impressed me so much, I just had to do make a site so other fans could learn about their favorite Glad Bag Girl!
There is one web site I found that a couple of girls put together for Melanie that I just found called Glad Girl Galore, but it is very hard to locate with a search engine.  It is here at... http://www.geocities.com/gladgirlgalore/
I tried to contact them, but they do not have an email address listed on their page.

From "Cupid"   From "Glad Commercial"

Melanie will be in another sitcom this fall on NBC.
On Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m this fall, NBC' will have a new show called .: "Happy Family" staring John Larroquette and Christine Baranski  as empty- nesters forced to contend with their loser children coming back home to roost.  Melanie is the over-achieving family success story, in the midst of a major emotional meltdown.
I can't wait to she her in this show.  I know she will crack me up.

I hope you come back an visit this site in the future as I gather more information on our favorite
GLAD BAG GIRL!
Melanie, if you see this web page, please send an email.  I need photos and information!  If you ever get back to Champaign, I would love to show your movie "The Opera Lover" at the newly restored " Art" theater in downtown Champaign, and have you as our special guest.
