Paris for Thanksgiving
_____________________________________________
"Paris is a sum total. Paris is the ceiling of the human race. All this prodigious city is an epitome of dead and living manners and customs. He who sees Paris, seems to see all history through with the sky and constellations in the intervals." -- Victor Hugo, Les Miserables
We were disappointed that we wouldn't be with family for Thanksgiving, so we decided that if we couldn't be with family, at least we could be in Paris! We briefly considered going to Turkey for Thanksgiving, but then they put out that travel ban for Americans...(just kidding).

Our Thanksgiving feast consisted of jelly bread, pringles, Heineken and soda from the snack cart (on the train ride into Paris) and then Croque Monsieurs and cappucino later that night once we got into Paris. Nothing to write home about, but we ate much better the rest of our short vacation.

This trip, we focused on shopping, eating and admiring the French archetecture. We saw a lot of museums the last time we were in Paris, and plan to go again this year, so this time around we went to only one museum - the Cluny Museum, built in old Gallo-Roman baths. The rest of the time we spent strolling along the Louvre and Champs-Elysees at night, shopping for clothing and gourmet food, touring the flea market and, of course, sampling French cuisine.
