Georgios Koukos
Originally from Patras, Greece. Currently a Research Fellow in Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) in Boston, MA, USA in Dr.Zannis' Lab. I am a PhD candidate on Molecular Biology and Biomedicine of  University of Crete and IMBB, Greece in Dr.Zannis-Dr.Kardassis Lad.
I got my Masters' Degree from the Medical School of the University of Crete, on 2001 and my Degree in Biology from the University of Patras, on 1998.
My research interests include the transcriptional regulation of the apolipoprtotein genes by nuclear receptors.

My hobbies and interests include my big love Photography. I had a chance to work on photography at my cousins' photo ladoratory and at the photographic club of the University of Crete (FOPK). I also enjoy  traveling around Greece and the world in general. I have created memories in many Greek islands including Naxos, Milos, Kalymnos, Andros, Crete, Ios, Santorini, Spetses, Ydra, Leukada, Kefalonia and Zakyntos. I also love the countryside of mainland Greece such as Dimitsana, Monemvasia, Prespes, Iwannina, Kalavryta and "Sourvitsa" where my family's countryhouse is located!
Konstantinos, Christina and Sandra (adelfoula!) are my immidiate family. We have a funny, warm and easy-going family. They are the people that know me well and like me for what I am...still! I almost lost them all on 15 Oct of 1988 on a car accident but we managed through that (thanks to the rest of the greatest family).
My dearest cousins: Zwi (the supergirl), Niki (matares mou!), Denis (my personal PC manager), Giwrgos (I love riding the car with you), Ginos (the mafia guy), Aggelos (my roomie in Crete), Ninos (the great guy) and Constantinos.		 Rare and difficult to keep.
I still remember the vacations and fun we had with Andreas, Christos, Panagiwtis, Dimitris and Kwstas. The deep, soul searching talks with Dimitris. (More than a decade together!!!)
The laughter and our own parties in the University years with Margie, Stavriani and Xenia (Love you all), and Babis (tsimpite!).
My labmates during my Master's years, Veta, Lina, Barbara, Giorgos, Dimitris A., and my dear Vicky (Miss you, guys!).
The everlasting relocations (we moved 3 times in 5 months) with my first international soulmate, Tsung-lin (he moved again twice this year).
The three Nikos friends (what a fun we had that June!). Not to mention this Christmas time and New Year's vacation in Athens! Thanks Nick for the hospitallity and everything we shared and enjoyed. Looking for more to come!
