GREATER JOHNSTOWN SCHOOL OF MUSIC
We are a partnership of teachers who taught together in the Richland Mall, East Hills Plaza, and most recently the College Park Plaza.

We aim to provide friendly, professional instruction in private lessons or small, exclusive groups.

Lessons are available for piano, drums, keyboards, guitar, bass, violin, mandolin, banjo, dulcimer and most woodwind and brass band instruments.

All teachers have been highly educated in the field of music and/or education.  Many are professional musicians who perform frequently both in and outside of Johnstown, PA.  Most have experience teaching in private and public schools as well as individual lessons.

Lessons are offered for all ages, from about 5 years old and up, depending on the student.  Most of our students are in the 9 to 18 year old range, but there are several adults and senior citizens who enjoy the lessons offered at the Greater Johnstown School of Music.

Many students from area school bands will supplement their lessons  to get individual help, especially in the summer.  Some parents want their children to get a head-start learning an instrument before 4th or 5th grade when lessons begin in school.

The School of Music is located in a quiet, safe area away from the traffic and congestion of stores and shopping centers.  Also, being that wwe are not a music retailer, there is never any pressure to buy an instrument from us.

Teachers at the School of Music work together and are often able to coordinate lessons from several students from the same family at one time;  such as a mother at a piano lesson while her son is learning drums and her daughter is learning guitar.

The goal of teachers at the School of Music is to instill an enjoyment of music in every student.  This is achieved by helping each person reach the highest performance level possible on their chosen instrument.
