I am the 7th child out of nine. I have three sisters and five brothers. We lived in Dyesville, Ohio, which is about an hour south of Steubenville.
I was raised in an old house in the country. We were too poor to buy toys but that's okay because we made our own out of clay.
I went to Collinwood High School for two years, then transferred to Max S. Hayes Vocational High School, where I took Industrial Maintenance. I graduated in 1983 in the top ten of my class. I was editor-in-chief of the school paper and also served in the Student Council.
I knew I was gay at 19 but I didn't come out of the closet for ten more years. Now I live a very open lifestyle with lots of friends who help keep me laughing.
Of course, I am still a work in progress.
