| GOODWIN ARRIVES | |||||||
| Steve Lovell has kept his promise and has brought in a striker to hopefully stop the terrible run of recent results. Lovell has signed Eastbourne Borough striker Mark Goodwin on loan for a month, while he cant get into the Borough side. Goodwin has been out of loan to Burgess Hill already this season, and has proven himself at this level recent seasons. Goodwin who is still in his early 20s has been at Eastbourne Borough for many seasons since signing from Eastbourne Town. Goodwins highlight must be his goal in extra time of the 2001 Sussex Senior Cup Final against Lewes that eventually won the cup for Eastbourne Borough. Goodwin has played Hastings this season in Burgess Hills rather fortunate 6-2 victory on Boxing Day when he played left-winger, he wasnt in the game much and was subbed when the Hillians were in cruise control. Goodwin has good pace, quite tall, and a lot of strength, which United need upfront, he also sets up a hell of a lot of goals, that will come in handy for the out of form Chris Honey. Goodwin is likely to start against Stamford tomorrow afternoon, United without Mitchell Sherwood, Kieren Startup, and Danny Ellis (all suspended), and Peter Taylor (with reserves), Mark Lovell and Lee Hockey (knee injuries) Steve Lovell hasnt ruled out any other signings in midweek. |
