Arsenal v Middlesbrough
Patrick Vieira is set to be ruled out of the Arsenal starting line-up again for Saturday's game against Middlesbrough at Highbury.
Vieira had been hoping to recover in time from the groin injury which also forced him to miss last weekend's North London derby.
But Arsene Wenger told the club's website, www.arsenal.com: "Patrick is not likely to start against Middlesbrough, although he is close. Edu is also not likely to play, so there will not be many changes in midfield."
Pascal Cygan is still doubtful with a calf strain, while Dennis Bergkamp may have escaped a ban at a Football Association disciplinary hearing, but must still pass a fitness test on a jarred knee.
Wenger must also decide whether he can afford to rest either Fredrik Ljungberg or Gilberto Silva, with Sylvain Wiltord hoping for a recall.
At least Rami Shaaban should be fit after a thigh problem to take up his place on the substitutes' bench, with Stuart Taylor having sustained a broken finger.
Middlesbrough meanwhile have doubts over Gareth Southgate, Ugo Ehiogu, George Boateng, Noel Whelan and Szilard Nemeth, but are hopeful that most, if not all, will be fit.
Joseph-Desire Job is in line for a return to action after recovering fronm the crack to the base of his skull he suffered in the defeat at West Brom.
"He's trained this week and he's got better every day," McClaren said.
"Obviously, it's a little different playing, but he wants to play.
"He feels well enough to and I think we've got the go-ahead. It's now looking at his attitude and saying will he be up for the game? He's champing at the bit to play.
"I think you have to try to chase the demons away - fall off a bike and get back on it. It's one of those old clichs, and that's what he's going to have to do.
"He's a brave lad, enthusiastic and wants to play, and that's the most important thing."
HEAD TO HEAD NOTES
Arsenal won this corresponding fixture just after Christmas last year, despite Middlesbrough taking the lead through Noel Whelan capitalising on a Sol Campbell error. Robert Pires equalised with a great volley and Ashley Cole finished for the winner following a great run and pinpoint cross from Dennis Bergkamp.
Arsenal beat Middlesbrough three times last season. They completed the 'double' over them in the League with a 2-1 win at Highbury, and then beat them 1-0 in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Old Trafford.
'Boro won 0-3 on their previous trip to Highbury on 14 April, 2001. That is their only League maximum in 24 visits over 53 years. There was one FA Cup tie in that period, which Arsenal won 3-2.
Three of the seven Premiership meetings between these clubs at Highbury have been drawn, and each has been a 1-1 scoreline.
Arsenal's biggest win in this corresponding fixture was 8-0 on 19 April, 1935 in the old League - Division One. Middlesbrough's biggest win in a League match at Arsenal was 0-3 in the Premiership on 14 April, 2001.
The last men to be sent off in League fixtures between these clubs were Ray Parlour of Arsenal and Ugo Ehiogu of 'Boro . The pair were shown red cards during the 0-4 Gunners Premiership win at the Riverside on 18 April, 2001.
The last player to bag a hat trick in this identical fixture was Marc Overmars. He scored three of Arsenal's goals in the 5-1 Premiership win on 20 November, 1999.
Three of the seven Premiership games at Highbury have been 1-1 draws.

Career highlights so far have been a 1992 FA Cup semi-final and a 1999 Worthington Cup semi-final. But 2001 was Dunn's biggest year, as he took charge of some key World Cup qualifying matches, not to mention the small matter of the FA Cup final between Liverpool and Arsenal.
