As I said on my home page, my husband is a truck driver.  This page is dedicated to truck drivers everywhere, both in North America and abroad.  A thank you for your willingness to sacrifice your time and your families time to make sure that we all have what we need.
Please remember:  If you eat it, wear it, drink it, drive it, cook on it, live in it, you wouldn't have it, if it wasn't for a trucker!

Truck Driver's Prayer
Dear God above, bless this truck I drive,
and help me keep someone else alive.
Be my mortal sight this day,
on streets where little children play.
Bless my helper fast asleep,
when the night is long and deep,
and my cargo safe and sound,
through the hours big and round.
Make my judgement sound as steel,
be my hands upon the wheel.
Bless the traveler going past,  teach him not to drive so fast.
Give me strength for every trip,
so I may care for what they ship.
Make me mindful every mile,
that life is just a little while!
Amen!
               REMEMBER:
         IF YOU'VE GOT IT,
   A TRUCKER BROUGHT IT
A note for all the vehicle driver's out there who share the road with these big trucks:
1. Please remember we are bigger than you.  If you and me have an accident, nobody wins!  And it's guarenteed that you will be a bigger loser than I will.
2. Please, we can't stop on a dime and make change.  Don't cut us off, brake without reason, drive too slow for the speed limit, or rubberneck for an accident.
3. Please, we have those wide turning signs on our vehicle for a reason.  Don't pull up in the lane next to us when you can see we are turning, you run the risk of being crushed.
4. Please don't play chicken with us.  It may seem like fun, but read number 1.
5. Please don't pull up next to us and ask us to blow our airhorn and then curse at us when we don't.  Legally we can only use them at certain times for certain reasons.  We don't want to scare the driver in front or behind us, or cause a little old lady to have a heart attack because we have scared her.  We don't mind blowing it for little kids if it's safe, but let us decide if we can or not and respect our decision.
6. Please don't curse and swear at us when we are trying to back in for a delivery or pick-up.  We already know we are blocking the road.  It's not easy with a big trailer and hey, we'd like to see you try!
7.  Finally, if you've been drinking, DON'T DRIVE!  No pleases here.  We have enough to deal with on the road without an idiot who has had too much to drink, getting in everybody's way.
