Lead campaign to stop reduction of boundries of Yosemite National park
1983- Sierra Club estab. office in California Academy of Natural Sciences. First "Sierra" Magazine printed under president Benjamin Harrison.  Estab. 13 million-acre  Sierra Forest Reserve!
1897- member count reaches 350
1898- Club estab. an office at Yosemite National Park to aid public
1899- Sierra Club pushes congress to make Mt. Rainer a national park. Legislation passes!
1903- John Muir and President T. Roosevelt meet at Yosemite National Park

1905- With the push by Sierra Club, California legislation agrees to return Yosemite Valley to federal managment. First club outting outside California.
1908- Member count: 1,000
1910- Sierra Club pushes for the estab. of Glacier National Park and Rainbow Falls. Both are endangered by a proposed revervior
December 24th 1914- John Muir Dies
1918- Sierra Clubs' proposal to expand Sequoia National park accepted. the headwaters of Kings and Kerns River added.
1920- Club opposes the damming of rivers in Yellowstone National Park.
1923- Federal Power Commission opposes the building or hydroelectric dams because of insight of Sierra Club
1927- Aurelia Harwood first female president
1929- Sierra Club Donates $1000 towards Sequoia National Park.

1938- Club protests the damming of Yellowstone Lake. John Muir Trail complete. First Sierra Club film- "Sky-Land Trails"
