| What are you doing to stop overpopulation on this planet? I am not having any children. If I have no descendants, they will not be destroying this planet for hundreds of years to come. | Church shopping trips: I visited Rock Pointe Church, on Utica Road= it was AWFUL. It is child-oriented to the max. There were no adult bible classes, just childrens classes. And the worship services were so LOUD. (I'm half-deaf from all the rock music I grew up with, and it was like attending a Black Sabbath concert=the music vibrated my body!!) And it was very lonely. Adult visitors are ignored, children visitors (I assume) are welcomed. Then I visited Mt Clemens Presbyterian church, hoping it was conservative, like Dr D. James Kennedy's church. Nope. I remember a flaming homosexual man I saw. He wore a purple blouse and purple pants with a yellow tie. The church had all old folks in it, again with no adult bible class. Then I found my church= Bethesda Christian Church. 3 miles from my house, and, gigantic! With multiple adult bible classes to choose from on Sunday morning. I'm not shopping anymore, I have found my Church! (OR did I? As of this week in Dec 2004, I have several Biblical doctrinal problems with Bethesda! 1} Women preachers are condemned in I Timothy 2:12-14. Bethesda has a women preacher! 2} Tithing is an Old Testament practice, not a New Testament teaching. Giving is what the New Testament teaches. Bethesda teaches tithing! 3}Musical Instruments in worship are never mentioned in the NT! The worship is described as singing! Ephesians 5:19 4} Premillenialsim is an error taught by 'churches' today. The NT teaches only Amillenialism, 'non-belief in the Rapture, Tribulation, Armageddon, and Thousand year reign of Christ.' The Bible says it, I believe it! 5} And Most Importantly: Salvation is by Baptism! Acts 2:38 Hearing, Believing, Confessing Christ, Repentance, Baptism for removal of sins!!! I Found My Church! Dec 2004 I returned to the church of Christ, the church I grew up in. I am a Member Of The Lord's Church! |
