About the Geisha
Yes, that means me.
Q. First of all, what does 'Geisha' mean?
A. Traditionally, a Geisha was (literally translated) an Art Person. They were women trained in singing, dancing, painting, writing, acting and political discussion. They were proffessional entertainers for the higher classes.

Q. Kay . . . how come YOU get to be called a Geisha then?
A. 'Cus I wanna be, so there! XP lol
No, actually, it all started in a very nice forum dedicated to talking about the manga Fruits Basket. I was the 'librarian', and I decided that I was a geisha librarian; always wearing kimonos, hair up, fan, etc.
Then I discovered the true meaning of what a geisha was (see above), and I realized I almost really am one. I AM THE ALL-AMERICAN GEISHA!

Q. So what makes you so much like a Geisha?
A. Well, I can't say that I do any of the following well, but I sing, dance, draw, paint, act and write. All of which traditional geisha were trained in. Plus, it's just so much fun to go around online laughing behind your fan and hiding things up your very long sleeves!

Q. What else do you do besides stinkin' draw?
A. What else IS there?! Just kidding. ^^ I read, sing, pester people, and take photographs. I'm also involved in church, church activities, and our homeschool groups and the plays that it holds.

Q. How come you draw kitties?
A. My brother found Ghost-sama's website through a linked adopted kitty, and that got me started on drawing kitties myself. A few years later, when I was 15 (I think), I applied to be a part of Ghost's staff, and was accepted within a few weeks.
That, and drawing peoples characters as fursonas is fun!

Q. How long have you been drawing?
A. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I've been drawing
anime/manga style since about 13.

If you have any more questions for me, either post them in the Guestbook (and please say that they're questions for the Geisha, otherwise I won't think to put them in here) or e-mail me at [email protected]
