Starting 35 weeks
5 weeks to go

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I just have felt really lazy and stuff. No nesting instinct going on here! :)

Chris finally gets off that horrible shift work he's been on for two months.  Last night was his last 3 pm to 11 pm thing for a long while. Thank the Lord.  I hated it, and of course, he did too.  Now he can hang out with me while I watch all my stupid reality shows and he can grill out and have his buddies over. I miss seeing them too. I felt like I was becoming a real hermit.

Here's what is going on at week 34/35 in baby's world:  He's about five pounds. He pees about a pint a day. He is about 16 to 17  inches long now.

We've been to two birth classes now.  It's been a lot of fun and very (cough cough) informative.  I have never seen a real birth video before. This is NOT the stuff you see on TLC: A Baby Story. The baby's head looked like a huge wad of chewed up spearmint gum coming out of that lady's hoo ha.  The drugged up mom, on the video, even said, "That doesn't look like a baby."  Everyone in the room laughed. I laughed nervously, thinking, "I'm about to faint."
Chris gets tickled every time we move into our last assignment---the floor exercises.  I'm pretty sure we heard a lady fart last time. I hope that never happens to me.  The shame.  At the last meeting, the mother had to wear a "dot" on their hand that was supposed to turn from black to green to show that we were relaxed. Well, my dot fell off and lo and behold, we discovered that Chris was wearing it on accident.  "I'm pretty relaxed!" Chris informed everyone, surveying his green dot. :)

My belly button is pretty much history, my bladder is still emptying at a rapid pace (but thank God, not on me without my knowledge since that last time!), and my back has actually gotten to feel a little better.  I've had to move into the guest room to avoid annoying Chris with my constant rumbling around with my zillion pillows.  Now we have both gotten good sleep. :)  Stella the trash dog really enjoys sleeping with her mama in her non-Frank zone too.  Frank has taken my spot in the big bed.  He even uses the pillow.  Spoiled doggers.

Next doc visit: Wed, May 5.  Cinco de Mayo!

Quotes of the week:

"You look like you are about to explode."---female student

"Mrs. Culver, have you lost weight?" snicker snicker  (Male student)

Upon being informed that the baby weighed about five pounds now, a shocked student, "But how can you look so fat and the baby only weigh five pounds??"

People, teaching is NOT for the faint hearted.  You deal with THIS all the time.  What's funny is I'm pretty immune to it by now, after seven years.
They have no filter on their brain.
