I want to say a huge thank you to Sonya, who wrote this email to me. And i thought it deserved its very own page, because she brought up question's and comments many others had brought to my attention.
To whom it may concern:
I attempted to post this through your e-mail feedback form, but my computer doesn't like it, so I'll just post my comments directly to you.
I'm not sure if you'd consider this hate mail- I'd probably consider it more 'constructive criticism', but you're welcome to put it wherever you like.
I like Emma as much as the next person. I don't really mind her performances in the HP films or the clothes she wears, which I feel are more appropriate for summer (those clothes aren't out of place in sunny California or Queensland, where it's always hot) but in cold, windy, rainy Britain? Maybe not.
I dont think the weather will ever stop Miss Watson, and fashion in Britain right now is a bit messed up because of the sudden changes in climate.
I can't say I was impressed by your 'analyses' of her outfits. Teen clothing (at least here in Australia) was 'sexed up' a long while before Emma Watson started dressing the way she is now. Right along with all the 'decoration' including that awful non-hemming craze and 'backsewing', both of which should have died ages ago, but that's beside the point. I see a lot of girls here in Melbourne who wear off-the-shoulder tops casually, with jeans or whatever. I'm just waiting for Emma to wear ugg boots. And I'll love to hear your thoughts on that if and when the time comes!
Ah...Ugg boots. I own a pair my self, but i would NEVER be seen in them. I wear them as slippers mostly. And concerning the clothes teens wear in general, and the 'Sexing Up' (Ive never thought of it that way to be honest) is terrible. Stylists, magazines and iconic women have a lot to answer for. The clothes were made for 18+ people, but its been turned into the childrens fashion of today, which i think is just discusting. So Emma is only reflecting what the British Teenage Girl is wearing, only she tends to over step the mark a bit too often.
The 'stuffing' suggestions aren't entirely unfounded, I'll admit (I've never actually had to stuff, does that make me a slut? That's the impression I get, that any girl with a large chest is slutty, whether it's natural or not- I may have misinterpreted your comments there, so defend this if need be) but I don't really think it's anyone's business. Of course, you're welcome to speculate. I just don't think Emma really cares if you criticise her for that sort of thing.
No, that does not make you a slut, but sadly a girls chest does stereotype her. People think that "Oh she has a big chest - she must be a whore." When people ive met, and many im best friends with, who have a good size, are far from sluts. And of course its no one's buisness if she stuffs or not, but she must know that she's inspiring younger girls than her self, and one day if they catch onto the up & downess of Emma's chest, there going to think it ok to do the same, when really you should be proud of what you have!
If she's nasty about her fans, well, that's not on, but could these be conflicting reports or unreliable resources? She gives me the impression in her interviews that she does enjoy what she does and she does enjoy the attention. If she's had a stalker, of course she would be at liberty to say 'some fans are a bit creepy'. We don't know what experiences she has had for her to make these sorts of observations.
I dont beleive ANYTHING on the internet is reliable, but its not my job to find out the truth, i only pass on the information i get. As for her stalker, i think she's asumed it was a fan, and has now put a stamp on all fans that are trully loyal to her.
I don't like this site, I don't love this site, but the fact that you have enough of an attention span to continue with such a project is great (I have an attention span the size of a seed when it comes to Web projects).
Lol thanks, Im telling you, it takes a lot of patience to put a site like this together.
Some of the things you say about Emma are really nasty and out of order, though. Toning it down a little bit will definitely set you apart from the other 'anti-Emma' sites, which really sink to the lowest common denominator, I've found. Be creative in your insults. Don't swear (unless you really need to). Think about what you write. Cheers.
Thank you for the advice, and i will be careful in what i say in the future, although somethings i say will always be criticised.
Fence-sittingly,
