Travelling to Ottawa

Sarah travelled to Ottawa for a stamp launch event commemorating the 60th anniversary of D-Day. It was also a chance to meet the 60 wonderful veterans that made up VAC's official delegation.

Lloyd Berryman Lloyd Berryman was a special one of the 60 veteran delegates who travelled to France. He served with the 2nd tactical Air Force-126 Wing 412 Squadron. On June 6th, he patrolled the beachhead as a day-fighter and to provided the 1st Canadian Army and the 2nd British Army with air-cover as they moved through Juno Beach.

The girls and I had the honour of chatting him up a the Lord Elgin lounge the night before the stamp launch.

The timing worked out perfectly that, even though I was only there for one night, I was lucky enough to catch up with the BPR class of 2003 - Ottawa contingent. Darcy McGee's
