Brownie Bulletin
& Junior Journal
May 2009
Updated 4/28/09
April was a great month for the girls!  We had our Annual Mystery Trip, which this year was a Mother Daughter trip to Color Me Mine.  Each of us decorated a ceramic piece and we got a tour of the facility along with a patch.  We have a lot of creatve girls and the ceramic pieces turned out GREAT!
We had the Brownies from Troop 60412 come to one of our meetings to begin working on the Scouts Own ceremony that we will be hosting at Camporee and we planned out our meals for our camping trip.  The Juniors shared their handbook and Junior vest with the Brownies.  The Juniors also taught the Brownies a GS song they learned.   We enjoyed a tour of the NEW Humane Society of Silicon Valley in Milpitas.  It was very cool!
May will be busy as we continue to prepare for Camporee.  We will pick a grace to do for our dinner guest on Saturday night as well as practice a song or skit that we will be performing for all the scouts at the Campfire on Saturday night during Camporee.  We will begin to practice our Nature ID by learning about various different plants found in the outdoors.  We will also learn about compassing, orienteering and the Junior girls will be learning about how to build fires and build shelters.
The Early Bird registration paperwork went home at our meeting on April 27th, if you did not come in to complete.  The forms and fees are due back to Lisa at our May 11th meeting.
