We have been busy preparing for Camporee, The girls learned how to tie a square knot,clove hitch and the Juniors learned the bowline. We have been doing knot relay races for FUN and practice. We learned about many of the plants and trees that will be on our Nature ID hunt at Camporee and should be able to identify them all. We practiced estimating various different ways and we learned how to use a Compass. We learned how to build fires and shelters. We have been working on the Scouts Own Ceremony that we will be hosting for all the girls and adults at Camporee on Sunday morning along with Troop #61400. I think we are as ready as we are going to be for Camporee, so wish us luck with the competitions!
The Brownies have been working on their Bridging requirements for the Junior level.
In June, we will be preparing for our upcoming Bridging/Court of Awards Ceremony. We will be earning our Horse Rider badge which the girls are very excited about. We are down to our last two meetings of the season and everyone is registered again for next season!
