Updated September 28, 2008
This month we welcome Diana, Emily S., Jami and Miranda to our troop.  We have had some FUN getting to know one another a little bit better and will continue to build new friendships.
We began our first meeting by deciding which Try-Its and Badges we want to work on this season.   The Brownies decided to work towards earning Puppets, Dolls & Plays, Building Art, Science Wonders, Watching Wildlife and Making Music.  The Juniors decided to work towards earning Drawing & Painting, Making Music, Camera Shots, Art in 3-D and Horse Rider.
We were trained on selling Nuts and Magazines.  The sale began on September 25th and orders are due to
Sharon C via email by October 19th.  Magazine sales will continue through the month of November.
The girls will begin to take on some leadership roles this year and will have additional responsibilities.  They will be divided into 3 different groups, called Patrols.  There will be a Patrol Leader, Assistant Leader, Treasurer, Scribe and Clean Up Manager for each patrol. They will come up with a Patrol name and the girls will rotate positions throughout the year in each of their assigned patrols.  At our last meeting in September the girls will learn what each of the positions roles and responsibilities are.  The Patrols will meet the first 15 minutes of our meeting to take care of dues, collect any information that is needed, complete "Bring to Next Mtg Notices" and take attendance.  We would like the girls to get to know some of the other girls in the troop that they do not know so well, so we did separate the friends into different patrols.  This will help them work on building new relationships.  If you hear any feedback on this or have any questions, please let Sharon or I know.

The girls decided that they wanted to do "Operation Holiday Cards" again this year so, we will be writing notes to the Soldiers in Iraq as one of our Commnity Service projects.
The girls will be planning for our Halloween Party which will be held on October 27th.  They can wear a costume or dress up in a pretty party dress.  We will have a sign up sheet at our October 6th meeting, so please plan on stopping in at the beginning or end of our meeting to sign up to bring an item for our party.
