IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE MONTH OF MAY

May 2:  Brownie Rally, Saghlie Junior High, 7:00pm
May 12:  Traveling Girl Scout store in Federal Way for last time this year, 4:30-6:30, Saghlie Junior High
May 12:  Monthly Leaders Meeting, Rainier View Elementary, 7:00pm
May 16-18:  Service Unit Encampment, Dash Point State Park
May 27:  Service Unit Awards Night, 7:00pm, Brown's Point Methodist Church.  This is an adult event but the girls in the service unit who have earned Bronze, Silver and Gold will receive invititations to this event.
END OF YEAR REPORTS AND EARLY REGISTRATIONS

Everyone must turn in End-of-Year reports, regardless of whether or not you wish to do early registrations.  Bring them to your early registration appointment.  If you are not doing early registration, you can leave them on Paulette's porch or bring them to the May's leaders meeting.  the due date for end-of-year reports is JUNE 10 (We are working on the President's Award for council and one of the requirements is that all year end reports are turned in on time so please help us with this requirement).

If you plan to take advanage of early registration you need an appointment.  The following time slots are available.
   Friday, June 6:  1:45 to 2:30
   Sunday, June 8:  12:00-3:00
   Tuesday, June 10:  6:15, 7:00-8:00
Appointments are in 15 minute intervals.  These are the ONLY times you can turn in early registrations and earn the incentatives, so make your appointment now.  Sign up at the May Leader's meeting or email
Paulette with your first three time choices and she will confirmation your time via e-mail.

2003-2004 BOARD POSITION NEEDED

We are still looking for a Service Unit Organizer for the 2003-04.  This person will be in charge of the recruitment events in the fall and working with the different school teams.  If you are are interested in this position please contact Lisa Bowman.

Here are the list of Service Unit Events the Events Committee is planning for next year along with tentative dates.  The events committee will be starting to look for locations for them.  If you would like to help with any of these events please let

October 17, 2003:  Cadette/Senior Event, Theme:  Troop Beverly Hills
October 24, 2003:  Juliette Low Birthday Event
November 10, 2003: Leader Investiture/Rededication Ceremony
November 14, 2003:  Me and My Family Event (Sock-hop, Gabriele will be chairing this committee)
December 12, 2003:  Holiday Event (Gabriele will be chairing this committee)
January 16, 2004:  Brownie Rally (We are looking for a Junior troop to help with this event)
January 23, 2004:  Junior Badge Day (We are looking for a Cadette troop to help with this event)
February 6, 2004:  Cookie Rally (We are looking for a 6th grade Junior toop to help with this event)
February 22, 2004:  Thinking Day (Alice will be chairing this event)
March 26, 2004:  Me and My Pal Event
April 16, 2004:  Daisy Days (We are looking for a 3rd grade Brownie Troop to help with this event)
April 23, 2004:  3rd Grade Slumberparty (We are looking for a 6th grade Junior troop to help with this event)
May 21, 2004:  Service Unit Award Night (Gabriele will be chairing this event)
June 4, 2004:  Service Unit Bridging Event
June 14, 2004: Leader/Daughter Event (Gabriele will be chairing this event)
Service Unit Encampment will be some time in the Spring
SILVER AWARD

We have two more members of our service unit who have earned their Silver Award.  Both girls are from Troop 1865, Katie and Sam.  They did a GREAT job on the "Little Leader Helper" books each of you have received.  Please be sure to thank them when you see them next.
OUR SUPER TROOPS FOR THE 2002-03 YEAR

This following troops reached Super Troop Status for the 2002-03 year.  This has been an fun new program in the service unit and will be continued next year.

Troops 920, 1118, 1162, 1344, 1734, 1736, 1773, 1846, 1865, 2138, 2139 and 2188
APRIL TROOP ACTIVITIES

Troop 1733 was busy completing their bridging activities.
Troop 1865 was busy working on Junior Badge Day and getting ready for Challenge of the Totem, which is May 2-4 at Camp River Ranch.
