9.  TRAVELING WITH THE HELP OF CYBERSPACE

One of the most-used functions of the Internet is making travel arrangements.  Try the following:

a.  Find and print out a map for a family or group trip.
b.  Get information about places you wold like to visit.
c.  Get information about nearby areas good for day trips.
10.  FUN AND GAMES

The Internet is full of game sites.  Look in the Just 4 Girls Awesome Links Directory under Computers and Cyberspace for some recommended sites that have computer games and try playing them at two of the sites.
MORE INFORMATION ABOUT E-MAIL

1.  Go online using an Internet Provider.  You may have enter a password to connect, depending on how the service is set up.

2.  Once you are online, go to the post office or mailbox area.  Once there, you should be able to find a compose mail icon, button, or menu item.

3.  Click on what you've found.  You should find a window for writing and sending your letter.

4.  At the top, type in the address of the person you are writing to.  HINT:  You need to have an e-mail address for someone in order to send an e-mail.  An e-mail address looks like this:  [email protected]

5.  Type a subject in the subject line.  Then go down to the letter writing area and write your letter.

6.  When finished with your letter, hit the send button and send it.

DO NOT open, or save attachments that strangers send you.  Unfortunately some people want access to your computer or think it is cool to destroy your files with a computer virus.  Sometimes people do not know they are sending one, so you should always have a virus check program on your computer.  If possible have someone show you how to use it.
