| SUGGESTIONS FOR INCORPORATING BRIDGING ACTIVITIES INTO TROOP PROGRAM Bridging activities are a good time for older girls to put into practice what they have learned while earning Try-Its, Proficiency Badges and Interest Projects. Take a look at things the troop is already doing and plan to include a Bridging troop in some of them. A BROWNIE TROOP WORKING ON THE CARING AND SHARING TRY-IT COULD: Make a "Friendship Scrapbook", that shows what Brownie Girl Scouts do, and send it to a Daisy troop; then invite the Daisy troop to attend a meeting and do some of the activities from the scrapbook. JUNIOR GIRL SCOUTS WORKING ON THE TROOP CAMPING BADGE OR THE JUNIOR AIDE PATCH COULD: Invite third-grade Brownie Girl Scouts to shate a night with Juniors on a weekend camping trip; a Junior patrol would visit the troop before the camping trip and help the bridging Brownies to plan and prepare for htier special time at camp. CADETTE GIRL SCOUTS WORKING ON THE CADETTE GIRL SCOUT CHALLENG STEP 5; THE CADETTE GIRL SCOUT LEADERSHIP AWARD; OR AS A CADETTE GIRL SCOUT PROGRAM AIDE COULD: put together a slide show or photo scrapbook on their camping experiences and visit a Junior troop for show "Show 'N Tell" and demonostrate camping skills thay have learned. SENIOR GIRL SCOUTS WORKING ON THE SENIOR GIRL SCOUT CHALLENGE: SECTION 5; OR A LEADERHSIP PROJECT COULD: prepare a Cadette troop for backpacking or set up a patrol leadership workshop or babysitting clinic for Juniors and Cadettes. |
