Bible=Beauty                                                              Read Proverbs 31:30

        If you are in any way, shape, or form, a human on this earth, than you know how much Hollywood is, well, full of itself! All they seem to ever think about is me, me, me. They make sure that everyone knows that if you are not as beautiful and perfect as a goddess, than you will NOT make it in the world. They try to disguise it, but everyone knows it’s there. The peer pressure on a typical teenage girl to be pretty, small, and perfect is equal to a 1,000 lb. weight. In certain interviews, actresses and actors have said that even they know of the pressure to be perfect that their shows present. They say that it is bad that Hollywood is doing this, but yet they don’t do anything to stop it! Hello? Do you see anything wrong in this picture? Good. At least I’m not the only one!

But the Bible has something to say about this, also. Read Proverbs 31:30. Hmmmmm.............now what does that verse say again? Ah, yes, that’s it. "Pride is deceitful, beauty is vain. But a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised." Okay, even I admit it. I don’t just get up in the morning, grab my Bible, and go to church. I shower, put on clean clothes, and make myself look nice. I can’t even imagine going somewhere looking that bad--ugh! Proverbs isn’t saying that its a sin to make sure you look nice. But here is another picture. Imagine. You wake up. You rush into the bathroom, take a shower, and get out as fast as you can. Run into your room, and turn on your curling iron. While waiting for it to get hot, you take the time to perfect your eyeliner and mascara and ‘Moonshine Magic’ lip gloss. Okay, now it is hot enough. After spending twenty minutes (hey, you do want that cute new guy at school to notice you, right?) perfecting your "do", you quickly glance at the clock. Oh no! You are ten minutes late! You grab your backpack, stumbling over your Bible. Oh well, no time for praying and devotions for now. You’ll have to do that after school. But wait, you have that date with friends and the mall! After that the time is devoted to the HUGE History final tomorrow! So you think, "One day of missed time won’t matter." This scenario is what the Bible means. Spending so much time on "perfecting" your appearance that you don’t "have time" for God. So next time, instead of fixing that chip in your Fire-Engine-Red nail polish, try reading your Bible! Trust me, it’ll make you feel beautiful inside and out!

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will be faithful to perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
