discography

as with the gigs page this is mostly from my memory as this is the first time i've properly tried to do this. things are currently in no particular order. links to labels are included where relevant, I can't promise that they will all still be active however.. most of these releases were short runs so may not be available now even if you can still find the label. one thing I can tell you for sure is that Yuffie's Sub Quest (my label) releases are not currently available in their proper form (packaging and everything) but I can always burn you a copy of any of them. Look out for the second incarnation of YSQ.. coming soon!

yuffie's sub quest releases:
(reviews of most of these releases can be found at D503's reviews page http://www.angelfire.com/music/d503/reviews.html)

YSQ1 compilation // yuffie's sub quest
the first release on my label was this compilation of strangeness, ranging from all out harsh noise to cutesy guitar pop. my own contribution was named 'eleanor cubison' after a girl with whom i was completely obsessed for a while but never actually spoke to

puppydisco // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ02)
a ten minute abstract soundscape, which was issued in a limited edition of nine and packaged in Walker's crisps bags

vok / orators split // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ03)
me as orators doing data-as-sound harsh digital noise, vok doing their crazy noisy vok thang, this release came packaged in individually hand-made cases by BraBomb productions

orators 'dark future' // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ05)
lo-fi techno based meanderings

andy kisaragi 'who says you can't make noise love songs' // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ06)
some real harsh noise and some slightly more considered, even nice experimental digital stuff. more data-as-audio stuff.

orators 'straight lines' // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ08)
more lo-fi techno based meanderings, with a bit more of a videogame-esque feel and vocals

umaro / andy kisaragi 'k'un l'un and digitalnonsense' // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ09)
split between myself and umaro, one of the many thousands of personalities of the man most commonly associated with Jacurutu:3 http://www.geocities.com/jacurutu3/ with me doing more digital loop based noise stuff and umaro just doing weird weird stuff.

orators 'your tv loves you too' // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ11)
further lofi-videogame-electro-tech madness.

untitled monsta related compilation // yuffie's sub quest (YSQ12)
remixes of the yuffie kisaragi track 'what kind of monsta' by various experimental / underground type people

orators / astroboy 'digital gristle and analogue filth' // yuffie's sub quest / ennui
split cassette release, me on one side doing loads of short strange digital pieces, and astroboy on the other in classic lofi astroboy style

releases on other labels:

andy k / mark p 3" split cd // crippled ninja productions
20 minutes of collaboration, edited down from several hours of stuff recorded when I stopped by at mark price's house during my travels around the states by greyhound bus. lots of analogue synthyness and stuttery beats. the old crippled ninja site doesn't seem to be there anymore, the only thing i can find is this interview with mark http://www.indieville.com/articles/crippledninja.htm

tube testing // lucha libre recordings
a compilation of remixes of D503-aka-andyJ's track 'vacuum tube' by various noise / experimental artists, released on andyJ's lucha libre label. I have three tracks on there, 'tiger style' and 'viper style' as andy kisaragi and 'vacula' as orators. the lucha libre site is no more, the best I can do is direct you to the D503 site, though it hasn't been updated in a good long while.. http://www.angelfire.com/music/d503/ incedentally if anyone does know just what the hell andrew johnson is up to these days could you get in touch, or put him in touch with me, as he just seemed to vanish a while ago

critical approaches to american music // anaphylactic shock recordings
compilation of noise/experimental/weirdness using the anaphylaxis album 'american music' as source material. my track is called 'modified'. http://www.geocities.com/anaphylaxis1/

erase your data // namseiko / heioka records
compilation, all contributors had only 2 short soundfiles to use as source material for their track. my track was called 'a temporary change in autonomous consumption'.

rainbow of goodness #11 // rainbow of goodness
issue 11 of mark price's (crippled ninja fame) excellent rainbow of goodness 'zine came with a compilation cd, featuring my imaginitively titled track 'i love rainbow of goodness'.

verweisung // pigdog
2cd compilation of tracks made using vok's 'vok 1-99' as source material.

while the world waited, volume one // samsa records
