| Pop: How long has the group been together? [Jamie]: This group has been together for a little over a month. Pop: very new act! were the two of you friends before all of this? [Nikki]: Yes we became friends during our science class last year and we've been friends ever since. Pop: What inspired you to from Crystal Tears? [Jamie]: Well, we both enjoyed singing and we both tried to get into the music industry numerous times before, so we decided to come together and form a little group. [Nikki]: We are still looking for 2 members to finalize the group. Pop: you guys tried get into the music business as solo acts before you met? [Jamie]: Yeah, I tried to do a solo act, I had a web site and everything, I was Sapphire, but it didn't blow over.... [Nikki]: I had always loved music, i never got the chance to make a web page or n-e-thing, but it just kinda worked out this way. Pop: Sapphire is an interesting choice of stage names Pop: does that hold any special meaning? [Jamie]: Sapphire is my birth stone and I just like the sound.. Pop: fair enough Pop: So what exactly does Crystal Tears mean? Pop: it isn't a reference to crystal meth, is it? [Nikki]: It doesn't really have a meaning, we just wrote down some names and picked the one we liked best. I't has no relation at all to crystal meth. Pop: okay good - totally off record here - people in the music biz will be pushing meth on you guys left and right - just say no! meth messes you up hardcore Pop: you guys don't do drugs do you? [Jamie]: Definatly not! It's totally uncool and it doesn't help your vocal cords either.... Pop: super! you don't want to pull a stacey keach, do you? Pop: Who do you draw inspiration from, either in or out of the music business? [Nikki]: There are alot of people who have inspired us to start a group, just nameing some like NSync, Britney Spears, and Christina A. Pop: What has been most inspiring to you about their careers? [Jamie]: That they put all this hard work into it and they still wake up everyday loving what they do and wanting to keep on doing it. Pop: When can we expect sound files? [Nikki]: As soon as we get the other 2 members we will start recording and writing so hopefully there will be some sound files coming out soon. Pop: How is the search going for the remaining two group members? [Nikki]: Well were still waiting for some press kits but nothing really great has come our way. [Jamie:] All of the audition info is on the site www.geocities.com/girlpop819 Pop: What kind of people have been sending you press kits? [Jamie]: People from very far away, unfortunitly, we can only deal with people in Jersey right now. But they are all very talented. Pop: Do you have a back up plan if this music thing doesn't work out? [Nikki]: Well we're still in High School so we have most of our H.S. and college careers to fall back on. [Jamie]: I'm in modeling school too.. so i can go into that if this doesn't work out... Pop: you model? Pop: how has that been going? [Jamie]: Yes, right now I'm attending the Barbizon School of Modeling in Red Bank NJ, and it's really awesome. We just did a fashion show and I think in a few weeks we'll be doing a photo shoot. Pop: most models are considered over the hill by 22 though [Jamie]: I know, but hey, it's good for right now... plus modeling opens you up to a lot of other things as well. Pop: like co-ownership of the now bankrupt Fashion Cafe? ;-) [Jamie]: lol Pop: Are you guys still with your boyfriends? And if so, if you become famous, will you stay with them or drop their sorry asses? [Nikki]: well i was just asked out by my b/f the other day so as of right now i wouldn't dump him if i became famous i would see how it works and if worse comes to worse we could break up but still be freinds. [Jamie]: I am in love with my b/f. I've been on and off with him for 3 years. I would stay with him if I got famous... Unless... Justin Timberlake came along. hehe Pop: guys hate just being friends - it's a nice dream though [Nikki]: lol ya i guess ur right Pop: Do you guys dance? [Nikki]: Yup, we love to dance... im always making up dances and stuff. [Jamie]: I know how to do the Britney Spears dances if that counts! hehe.. But really, I love dancing.. Pop: which britney spears dance? the pole dance? [Jamie]: That too! hehe! Pop: whoa there Pop: okay moving along... [Jamie]: lol |
