Garden Reflection
I picked up a flower off the street the other day
and safely took it home to put it on display
was then I noticed how tattered and torn it was
I knew I had to give it some tender care so it would grow

don't know exactly how it gained my attention
but the more I looked at it I was looking at my own reflection
mis-shapened as it was, it somehow seemed to flow
and I knew right away that it was my inner glow

I'm sorry flower for the way you might have felt
stuck in the ground for too long without any help
with the sun shining down upon us we'll make it through this weather
me and you together, little flowers

I took my little flower out, to brighten up its mood
I thought the pouring rain might do it some good
but soon I had to bring it in, it was a failing try
I noticed my pretty flower had begun to cry

I put it on the windowsill, concealed from sight
I thought my flower might grow without the light
though still a beauty, it's colors had gone away
my flower needed a brighter day

I'm sorry flower for the way you might have felt
stuck in the ground for too long without any help
with the sun shining down upon us we'll make it through this weather
me and you together, little flowers

Mary Mary, come see your garden
theres some weeds that need pulling and a lot more work to do
the fertilizer's finally sinking in
so pour some water on me please, the food for my soul

I feel it running through my veins now
this sensation of anew
I'm mending my broken petals and streching out my roots
I'm turning away from the lost seeds in the street
and now I'm growing
now I'm growing

I'm sorry flower for the way you might have felt
stuck in the ground for too long without any help
with the sun shining down upon us we'll make it through this weather
me and you together, little flowers
