Closed Curtains
a young man lies awake
cold and shivering
all alone and afraid
he doesn't think he can trust himself any longer
his life's hit a wall
he's closing his eyes
to the pain and the torcher
his hope sits locked up in a corner upstairs
the love he once knew has been tossed to the side
he doesn't feel the need to live anymore

when will he see
all that he's made of and what's waiting for him
when will he learn
he can turn right around and start all over again

he sits in the dark with nothing to feel
his heart lost the battle
between it and his mind
the cobwebs have formed
and it hasn't  been dusted
and now he's left lingering to become unknown

when will he see
all that he's made of and what's waiting for him
when will he learn
he can turn right around and start all over again

and now, all has left him alone
there's no hope now it seems
he feels lost and he's crying
he's turned, turned his head from the light
all the curtains are closed
and inside he's been dying

excuse me sir, but your vision seems shady
you need something to just change your mind
if you'd turn your head from your peripheral vision
you might just see the sun has cast a new day
you want to drift from the human condition
so go ahead and do what you need
there's no holding back and the race hasn't started
so just back up and get your running start

when will he see
all that he's made of and what's waiting for him
when will he learn
he can turn right around and start all over again
