This Katherine (or Catherine) is the second wife of George Allen. Although her maiden name is not known for certain, she is often referred to as Katherine Starkes and sometimes Katherine Davis. She is also called Katherine Collins because of her later marriage to John Collins. All twenty-one children of George Allen are attributed to her here as a matter of convenience until more information about their respective birth dates and the death date of the first wife is known. The first eight children seem to have been born before he marriage to George Allen and are therefore likely to belong to George's first wife.
