I'm having trouble tracing past my gr-gr-grandfather. He was Thomas Edward Crump, called Tom Ed. He was married to Amanda Burton Harmon on 3/11/1886 in Ashland, Missouri (county of Boone). The only information I've been able to find is that his mother was Native American, possibly Cree. Tom Ed & Amanda had 12 children, all born in the Ashland/Wilton area: Arthur, Artie, Elbert, Luther, Lewis, Connie, Effie Lee, DellaMae (or May), Edna Pearl, Gladys, Roy Thomas, & Stella Ann. My grandfather is Artie. Does anyone have ANY info on this? I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks

He only had one hand because he lost one in a sorghum press. I have a newspaper article of the Perkins family standing around that same press, and my cousin has the watch that was in Frank's hand when he got hurt. He was alone when this happened. The pocket watch locked up the press or he would have lost his entire arm. He amputated the hand himself, with his own pocket knifeFrank's wife was Loretta (Lorette) Ann Taylor, and he called her Annie. She is buried at Nashville Cemetery, Sapp, MO. The tombstone reads Lannie Perkins. Family legend has it that Frank carved this tombstone himself (with one hand) and it is actually L. Annie. The stone is hard to read and beautiful in it's handmade simplicity.
