Sgt.Thomas Crump was alive on 1 September 1636 when he deeded his 500 acres to his brother-in-law, Gershon Bucke. Sgt. Thomas must have been deceased by 1642 when Elizabeth (Bucke) Crump was in Court being sued by Bridget, the greedy woman who wanted some of the land of the late Rev. Richard Bucke.
Greedy Bridget did not give up and sued again in 1654; and, she lost again Bridget had been the wife of John Burrows, one of the original guardians of one of the Bucke children after Rev. Bucke died. Bridget was neither a widow nor a child of Rev. Bucke.

OBITUARY"At his home near Sweet Springs, Saline County, MO., Jan. 21, 1889, Shadric Elberton Harmon, aged 71. "Deceased was born near Old Franklin, and on June 28, 1838, was married by Elder B. Wren to Miss Parthena Crump, who, with nine children, survives him, and were all present at his death. "Mr. Harmon lived in Boone county until 1861, when he moved to Saline county. He joined the Primitive Baptist church at Goshen in 1841, and when he moved to Saline took his membership to Goshen church there. Deceased was loved by all who knew him, and will be missed in his church and his family. He is laid to rest and his works do follow him.
