Coach's Notes
Information on the Northwest Track and Cross Country Teams
Districts

It was a very good day for the Lions at Districts.  Many of the Lions finished off their season with style Saturday running season PR's and pushing themselves to the limit in an attempt to qualify.  The two events that were seeded to qualify both emerged as district champions and two events that were not seeded to qualify surprised the competition.

The 4x800 team of Tyler Amick, Josh Dautenhahn, Justin Schacht, and Zach Kassman pushed through running a 5 second PR for the season to get things started.  Then Chris Chiles shocked Southeast Missouri by defeating three very good vaulters by clearing 13'6" one of the top jumps in school history and then he barely missed the school record when we clipped 13'9".  Tyler Amick was another huge surprise in the 800.  Tyler came in seeded ninth and broke away with the front group to earn a third place finish.  Zach Kassman then wrapped up a long day with some smiles as he overcame the heat to win the two mile with a spactacular final lap!

Several other Lions had very exciting days.  Senior Andrew Donahue put his heart into every race PRing over and over again.  He finished his track career with a 52.79 split closing the 4x400.  Freshman Jake Scheidl made it to the finals in the 110 hurdles and long jump accomplishing PR's in both and then anchored the 4x100 relay of Donahue, Sean Thuston, and Eric Chandler to the fastest time this season.  Chadd Lammert came within an inch of his season PR in the shot put as he made the finals and came close to qualifying.

Overall it was exciting to be a part of.  http://www.trxclandscaping.com/districts_tf/2007_results_jackson.htm
