The Hillsboro Track and Field meet was a little different this year.  Hillsboro now has the finest high school track and football facility that I have ever seen.  They have a professional type turf on the football field and a wonderful new track.  It is a first class facility and it has attracted first class competition.  The Lions competed well and had a lot of PR's but didn't pick up the win, however I don't have the full team results.  The highlights of the night were the 4x800 team led off by Jared Lammert who ran a 2:13, Clinton Cooksey who PRed 3 times to go 10 feet in the vault, and Chad Callahan making another big drop in the two mile with an 11:08.  Freshman phenom Jake Scheidl made another bid for Varsity running a 17.1 in the 110 hurdles taking second by a hair! Blake Fisher finished off a fine hurdling night by winning the 300 hurdles by the same hair! Good night for the young guys overall! Lions run Saturday at home and I still need helpers!
