| In my heart I hold one wish: That this day would never end. LIke the first chord struck to start the show Is the thawing of the winter snow Anticipation's radiant thrill I beg you, I plead: stay with me still. Sun embraces gentle earth As I think of our first kiss In the moment their eyes interlock With smiles fading, they cease to talk The silence speaks their secret reason And I dream of a future season. I visualize the second When your face moved close to mine. As I smelled your scent, your skin, your hair I tasted the sweetness of your air A premonition of winter's death The moment my lips first felt your breath. But even though it lingers, This memory, too, must fade. The summer insists, begs to be born As day matures from shining morn Even though our lips are sealed as one I remember praying for the sun. i remember reading this poem to her over the phone and it made her cry. then she said, "i love you" as she wept. hahaha liar. my poems see into the future. haha. |
