| Ok, L. Ron Hubbard's evil cult "religion" aside, he wrote some pretty cool sci-fi novels! I remember seeing books in this series scattered around used book stores and Goodwills here and there and wondered why I had never heard of them. The Mission: Earth series is a ten volume story about an alien race infiltrating and taking over the world. The aliens are humans and not all weird looking and the books are pretty funny! They are action-packed, kind of a pulp-science fiction. Soooo fun to read, sooo addictive. At the end of book one (The Invader's Plan) 600 pages into it the crew is ready to leave and start their secret mission to Earth and you are just so hooked. The books are funny and satirical, but they poke fun at stuff in society that I don't like either, so it's ok! I am surprised this gigantic series of books doesn't get talked about more often! It's a great story. It's like James Bond meets The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy with a dash of Reservoir Dogs. Fantastic! |

| Soltan Gris is narrator of the story and all-around jerk. He is a mean, rude, drug-dealing, murdering, whining, backstabbing low-life. So fun to hate this guy. He is awesome! His role is played by Steve Buscemi. | |||||||||||||||||||

| Jettero Heller, the space marine with a heart of gold. Loved by all, so nice, chivalrous, trusting, honorable, altruistic! He can also kick some ass in tight spot. You gotta love this guy; he's just great. Hated to death by Soltan Gris, although he never says it to his face. Jettero is played by Owen Wilson | |||||||||||||||||||
