A Tribute to a Badlands Preacher and a Friend

A Badlands preacher, Rick Watson was.
The land of red rock and a rattle snake buzz.
With the sunset red on hill top dome.
where friends always had
food and a spare bed in their homes.
Friends came from far and near just to hear
a Badlands preacher pray, sing and speak
the word for all to hear.
To fill sad hearts with Gods words of cheer.

On top of the hills at sunrise
where you can feel that God is near.
Rick reached out and God took his hand.
"you help the rest.  I'll give the command."
So with word and song Rick did his best.
God was pleased.  He sent Rick here
to the land of trees and lakes.
Rick done his best and served God well.
Helped to take a sinner from the bounds of Hell.

Now God has spoken to the Badlands preacher.
Now to the valley he must go
to serve the people, friend or foe.
He has served his time in woods and lakes.
So upon the horse of life, he will ride
to help other sinners gain their pride.

I am glad I had the chance
to be a friend of such a man.
So on the back of the horse of life.
I too, can sit and ride
knowing God and Rick will be on my side.
From a badlands friend who wishes you well.
At one time we all raised hell:
Thank God for Rick, our ways we mend
as we part the best of friends.

Christmas Gift

Christmas is here again.
New love will be born again
I have not much to give
But will give all my Love to you.
To me this is a special joy.
Like giving a child a brand new toy.
And may you feel merry and gay
Upon this special day.
Gifts may come and go
But our Love will be here to stay.
I hope you have a happy day.
A gift of Love is all I have to give.
A kiss for good cheer.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
