| Christmas 2003 in Iowa! Well, how did YOU spend your Christmas holidays? Skiing in Tahoe? A Bahamas cruise? Maybe that picture perfect Norman Rockwell setting? HOW BORING! This past Christmas I was able to go back to Iowa and see my kids, and that was the greatest gift of all! You see, the last Christmas I spent with all my kids happened to be in 2000 before I ventured back to the hustle and bustle of Cali, so this was great! We spent time just hanging out and enjoying each other. I stayed in Centerville with Lacey and Nathan and their very mixed household of animals, including their handicapped ferrat. Nathan, I love him to pieces! He made me a triple berry cheescake! Now, lemme tell ya, the boy can cook! Sarah did numerous trips from Ottumwa to Centerville and back so that I could catch up with old friends, and it was great to see everyone! Michael, Beth and I went to go see Lord of the Rings (the new one), and duh, me!......the last one was the first one I saw! I was so happy to see each one of em! The next few pages are basically unrehearsed. I bought 8 disposable cameras and told the kids to snap whatever they wanted...I wanted this to be very casual! And I wanted it to be pictures they could come back and look at and just remember the fun we had! Other than my kids and my friends, I do NOT miss Iowa! Someone once told me that Ottumwa was nothing more than a corpse with a decent make-up job...and what I saw was bleak, miserable and depressing. No matter what it ws, I enjoyed my kids! Hmmmmmmmmm..........breath me to life? |
