I tried to shoot an innocent
glance at the Saiyans that stared on in absolute mid-terror. For all the luck
that I had, my tail snaked around my ankles, and smacked Prince Vegeta’s toes.
His lips broke free of mine when he flinched in mid-pain. I bit my lower lip
and glared at the Saiyans. “Hehehehehehe” I laughed, trying to hide it a bit. I
tried to shove Prince Vegeta, so that he could see who was behind him, and it
almost worked. “What!? What is it, woman!? Your stupid tail smacked my foot!”
he snarled, and turned towards the doors to tend to his foot, away from me. As
he turned, he saw the Saiyan boots of six other people in front of him, and his
head quickly shot up. “WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!? WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE A
TRIP!? TO ALL OF YOUR AFTERLIVES!? THEN, I SUGGEST YOU TURN AROUND AND MIND
YOUR OWN BUSINESS!” he yelled at them with such spite in his wheezy and sharp
voice. They all crammed back into the royal court and shut the doors close
behind them all. Prince Vegeta turned back towards me and stood up to his
level, placing his hands back on my shoulders. “Prince Vegeta, I”- “Please-
just call me Vegeta” he rolled his eyes. I cocked a brow and just nodded with
half-agreement. “Uhm- Vegeta? Can we finish this somewhere else?” I bit my
lower lip. He looked as if he was about to explode and try his hand at killing
me again. I flinched and shut my eyes closed tight. “Fine” he snorted briefly
and quietly, and tugged me by my arm outside the boundaries of the palace.
I didn’t know whether I was
a lucky girl, or a very DEAD woman! I didn’t exactly consider the very external
wall of the palace “somewhere else” but at least no one would really get in the
way that time.
“Vegeta?” “What, woman?” he
snapped back sharply. “This- doesn’t mean we- love- eachother, does it?” I
shakily asked. He grasped my head in his hands, his eyes violently shaking. I
looked back with glassy green eyes and fell silent- with the feel of rubber up
against my fleshy cheeks. “Of course not,
woman! I can’t love YOU! You’re- you’re obnoxious and so adolescent” he grinned
slightly, and turned me loose. I
couldn’t help but still stare at him, and it seemed he tried to hide his stare
back at me. Vegeta rolled his eyes and took in an agitated sigh. “If you’re
going to stand there with your mouth wide open all day, then I better give you
a better place to do it!” he snarled. “Hn- I almost forgot about where I’d
stay” I said under my breath. He snarled low under his breath and I began to
feel the need to keep my own mouth shut. “DON’T expect much from me, woman!” he
hissed, and took me by my arm, back inside the courtyard. “But- you- you can
stay here” he tried to say as quickly as possible. “Thanks” I bowed my head as
he tugged my arm harder. I looked at the ground- where Vegeta and I had once
stood, and Tenchi’s bandanna was gone- so was the towel. I didn’t dare consult
Vegeta about it, because he wouldn’t care, so I shut up and kept my worries to
myself. “Come” he snorted, and swerved about, trying to find a way to avoid the
royal court. “Where are we going?” I asked quietly, out of curiosity. “Silence!
You’ll have to wait for that” he snarled. I fell quiet as he turned right at an
open window. He shoved me away from him as he held his hand out at the glass
and yelled, “BIG BANG ATTAACK!” The window shattered and was blown away in the
large Ki blast. Vegeta grabbed my arm and thrust me into the building with a
swipe of his arm. He leapt in after me, and took me by my arm tightly down the
hall- running faster and faster. I tried to keep up, but his eyes searched as
fast as his feet were moving. My tail thrashed from side to side as I leapt to
keep up with him.
He skidded to a halt, almost
making my body press tight against his back. “Here” he growled briefly, and
kicked the door open- shoving me in there in front of him. He closed the door
behind him in the pitch-blackness and started to pant- I did the same, sitting
on the cold floor. He flicked the light on, and I was amazed at what I saw…
It was a HUGE high-ceiling
room that was made for royalty. “This is- is enormous!” I gasped, getting to my
feet. “This is my room” he rolled his
eyes in vein. “HUH?” I mumbled, my knees feeling weak. “B-B-But why am I in
y-y-your room?” I gulped, trying to walk towards him. “You’ll stay here- unless
you want to stay outside” he hissed,
as if it was painful for him to let me be in the same room as him- as if it was
painful for him to be nice to me.
“B-But where will you”- “Here” he interrupted me. “But that’s”- “Don’t pretend
like you don’t know what’s going on- you are sleeping HERE and so am I! This is
MY room so I’m staying HERE- I COULD kick you out but”- I grinned and
interrupted him, “But what?” He started to blush as if he didn’t know how to
snap back. “B-But I- but you’ll disturb other people” he finally snapped back
and turned on me a bit. I slyly grinned, my tail lagging on the cold-tiled
floor. “It’s getting late” he turned to me and snarled. Vegeta took my arm and
shoved me onto the springy mattress. “GAGH!” I yelped, bouncing slightly, and
trying to get my bearings on such a bouncy thing. “Go to sleep” he ordered me.
“But”-“GO TO SLEEP!!” he hollered, piercing the mid-silence. “O-O-OK” I
trembled, and tried to roll over a bit. “I’ll be back later”- “But- where are
you going?” I turned again. “Going to- eat. You don’t NEED to eat” he snorted.
“I’ll be back later” he said again and slammed the door behind him. I sighed,
and folded my hands on my stomach. What was going on? I arched a brow and
glared at the pale ceiling. The more I stared, I became drowsier and eventually
felt sleep get the better of me- I was so tired from all that arguing, I
quickly fell deeply asleep.
As I slept, thoughts stung
the silence in my head. There was a small vision ahead of me- two people
holding hands drastically, like the really needed eachother to survive. But
they were just shadows, filling my hurt eyes as I drew closer. But a silvery
glow passed over them, and these people- torn apart now, were revealed to be
Vegeta and I. I scowled to think that he would feel the need to have me around,
and I the same. There was a burst of flames and a cry for help and pleads to be
reunited, and then there were the glassy eyes of my past love- Tenchi. He
looked so angry and confused to se me with another man, and tried to kill
Vegeta, but I couldn’t do anything to stop it- not even knowing what it was I
was crying for.
I shot up from the soft
pillow and stared into the darkness with my rabid-beating heart. Sweat drizzled
down my face as I panted furiously. How did I get under the covers? I tried
shoving them off me, but there was weight that kept them near me- I looked over
at my side to see Vegeta next to me- covers pulled over his bare chest. I
almost screamed in total confusion as to what was going on- but I just pressed
my head back down on the soft pillow and tried to call asleep again. Now I saw
what he meant by staying in the same room as me! I thought is was suspicious
that such a difficult man would want to share a bed with me- let alone put me
in his own room with or without him! I thought Vegeta said we weren’t in love?
Or maybe I just didn’t understand yet…
Almost as if I’d caused the
sun to rise, it was morning again. I turned over on my right side and fluttered
my eyes a bit. My arms stretched over a fleshy neck, and I pulled my body close
to the mild corpse. I heard shock in a yawn that didn’t escape my mouth, but
another’s. “Get off me, woman!” my eyes shot awake and I realized I’d pulled
myself close to Vegeta. I shot up and out of his bed, standing on the extremely
cold tiles- my tail thrashing about at the rude awakening. “Well- YOU were the
one that- that told me to go to sleep- in YOUR bed!” I panted unsteadily.
Vegeta rose from the covers, his bare chest sprinkled with fragments of light
from outside. “Yeah, so?” he grumbled a frigid yawn. I rolled my eyes and tried
to shake myself awake. “What is going ON!? I’ve been here for 4 days now, and
it’s been the strangest 4 days of my life!” I pulled at my scalp. Vegeta let
his feet lag over the side of his bed I had slept on. “Whatever” he mumbled.
“Whatever!? WHATEVER!? What’s going on!? First you kissed me, then you did it
again, and then I slept in your bed!? What’s going ON!?” I yelled at him again.
He leapt to his feet bare feet and clamped a fleshy hand over my mouth. “First of all, you kissed me first, and then
you did it again- and second of all, don’t make that much noise or they’ll hear
you!” he whispered. I shoved his hand away and cocked an eyebrow at him.
“Who’s ‘they’?” I asked suddenly. “Oh-
well- let’s see! My FATHER! He practically sleeps in the other room!”
Vegeta pointed to the wall to my left. I quivered and felt my stomach knot.
“One thing, woman”- he added when I turned with a cold shoulder, gripping my
arm and swinging me back towards his face- angered and wrinkled. My mouth
dropped open as I watched his facial expressions. “If my father finds you all over me, then he’ll kill you for sure- and I
can’t guarantee I’ll save you!” As if things couldn’t get worse, King
Vegeta could behead me and Vegeta wouldn’t really jump in to save me! That was
a sign that he didn’t love me- and part of me thought that was a VERY good
thing if I wanted to live another day on this planet!
“Vegeta”- “What is it,
woman?” he snapped a snarl. I started to pace, my tail lagging on the cold
floor. “It’s come to my attention that something’s a bit suspicious here! Now,
we’ve kissed twice and agreed it doesn’t mean we care or love each other- but
I’ve slept in your bed without bothering you, and does this mean that we”- “No!
Woman! Can’t you get it through your head that this doesn’t have anything to do
with LOVE!? Saiyans don’t LOVE! And why would I wanna love YOU, anyway!?” he
semi-grimaced at me, raising his voice awfully loud. “Because, you slept with
me! You kissed me without pulling away- twice” I grinned- I thought maybe I was
trying to make it look like I loved him back! That made my skin sicken and I
tried to stop prodding him about the issue. Vegeta fidgeted with his fingers
and blushed a bit- enclosing in on me with his chest sucked in at me. “I- I-I”
he stuttered. My eyes sparkled at his reddened face. “What are you smiling ab”-
I grasped his face with my claw-like nails and my fleshy fingers. “Answer me,
monkey boy!?” I snarled low, my nose almost pressed against his. “I-I-I don’t
have to take orders from YOU!” he tried to shove off but I gripped his flesh so
that it looked like it would hurt- and I estimated that it did by the cold
expression crossing face. “All- right!” he gasped, feeling pain. I let him go
and crossed my arms waiting for an answer after he tethered his sore jawbone.
“There are many ways to make you talk, now PLEASE- just TELL ME!” I pleaded
loudly with a bit of spite in my innocent-type tone. “FINE! I WILL! Maybe I do like you a little bit” he said in a low
voice that almost sounded calm. I bent my head just like he had done. “Well- I
guess I like you too” I grinned and
blushed a bit. I looked up at Vegeta and he looked back at me. “Oh, who gives!” I smirked a bit when he
said that, and pressed my lips hard up against Vegeta’s.
“This was a mistake” I
scowled, getting to my feet and slipping my shoes and socks back on. My tail
felt so limp and numbly cold. Vegeta’s head perked up, and he watched me ready
to leave. “No!” he quickly snorted, jumping to his feet and pulling his spandex
pants on over his boxers. I watched him limp over to me, trying to still get
his pants on, and giggled slightly under my breath. He grabbed my arm coldly
and swung my body around towards his bare chest. “If you walk out of here by
yourself, ESPECIALLY- looking like you’ve been dunked in mild water – and out
of MY room, SOMONE is definitely going to expect something!” his wheezy voice
crept in and out of my ear. “Right” I glared at him uneasily, twisting my neck
at him. “Vegeta” I breathed and pressed my back up against the door. “I don’t
think it was the silly-wooed me talking this morning” I fidgeted with my hands
and fleshy fingers. “Hn” he snorted back in a wheezy tone. “I think- that- even
though I don’t know you- very well- well, Vegeta- I think- I think maybe I
really DO love you” I tried to murmur with quivering lips. He lifted my chin
off my chest and stared at me with his shaky bullet-like eyes. “I- think maybe
you’re- you’re” he stopped, as if he was giving up so suddenly. I glared at him
with glassy eyes, trying to get him to talk and look at me to understand. “Am I
right, Vegeta? Please be truthful with me, and I’ll never ask you to be
sentimental again!” I started to tear up just at the thought of such neglected
love- such love I didn’t know existed, and love I thought might be so wrong. I
lunged at him and wrapped my arms around his bare back- my tears drizzling over
his flesh. He didn’t hesitate- he let me fall into him, his hands hesitantly
falling over my quivering spine. “Yes- you’re right” he calmly whispered, and
squeezed me tight for one small second.
There was the twist of a
knob and the opening of the door. “UHGN!?” came a loud grunt and then the
exposure of the whole door. I pried myself away from Vegeta to face his father
standing with utter shock…
