Mr. Medina passed out the rest of the papers and before settling to his desk, he whispered, "You could have done better," to Rory leaving her without words. Never having a grade lower than a C, this D- was the worst of all, especially in the first week of this Chilton trimester. Paris smirked, her unhappy eyes suddenly growing in all happiness. "Ok, that's all for now. Everyone who got lower than a C, come see me after class. You all know I don't do well with bad grades." The shrill bell rang and Rory got up from her seat. "Have fun…" Paris said, pushing Rory out of the way still smirking. Rory rolled her eyes and pulled her book bag higher on her shoulder. Making her way in between the desks, she walked to Mr. Medina's desk and with her test folded neatly under her arm. "You wanted to see me?" Mr. Medina looked up from grading the rest of last weeks test grades and frowned at Rory. "You got most of the pre-test questions right, what happened with the test?" Rory shrugged, looking at her perfectly clean sneakers. "I don't know, I probably didn't study that hard." "Yeah… that'd right. But unfortunately, you'll have to make up the grade." "Another test?" Rory asked, raising her eyebrow. "No, you and Mr. Du Grey will go a project, then present it to me and/or the class. You should both have it be a written report, add some graphics make it important but make sure it'll teach BOTH of you something." Rory jumped. "Tristan?" "I believe that's the only Du Grey here," Mr. Medina said, gesturing towards the back of the classroom where Tristan stood. "Now, I've got my lunch break. I'd like both of you to start discussing this during lunch period. That means no reading." He smiled at Rory. She nodded, sighing. She walked out of the classroom, she was sure her shoes made black skid marks on the floor. "Rory!" Tristan yelled, rushing from behind her. "What, Tristan?" she said rolling her eyes. "Don't worry, I'm not going to insult you." "Well, that's a first." Rory said, pushing the door opened to the cafeteria. Paris eyed her and Tristan with mad eyes and turned back to the cafeteria food. "I'm surprised THE Rory Gilmore can get lower than a C." "And I'M surprised Tristan Du Grey couldn't fit the whole study book in his enormously large head," Rory snapped, taking a tray through the lunch line. Tristan stood behind her. "That's not nice, is it?" he taunted. "Maybe not, but do you think I'm happy I have to do this… this… project. And with YOU! My #1 enemy from this school? At Chilton? You think?" she carried her tray to an empty table and sat down, pulling out a book from her book bag. "Mr. Medina said no reading." "I'm sorry, did you say something?" Rory said, pulling the thick book closer to her face. She bit into her sandwich and ignored Tristan. He stood up, shaking his head. He sighed, "Welcome back to Chilton, Rory." End Part 1
