From: lexmorgan007@yahoo.com (Lex Morgan) Chapter 7 It was the end of summer and Tristan was on a plane back to Hartford. He hadn’t checked his messages like he said he would, because he didn’t want to think of anything back home. He thought that he was finally ready to go back to school. When he got home he went up to his room and started to unpack, and he pushed the play button on his flashing answering machine. Meanwhile, Rory and her mother were getting ready for the Stars Hollow, annual end of the summer festival . It happened every year, and it was a blast, everyone came together, and there were sparklers, and food, and people telling stories. Every year Rory had looked forward to it. She would hang out with Lane and they could just have fun before the pressures of school started. However, this year, she wasn’t looking forward to it as much, this year, lane wasn’t going to be there, her mother had found one of her CD’s lying out and sent her to Korean bible camp. Lorelai knew that her daughter wasn’t having the greatest summer, first the whole Tristan thing, and now Lane was gone. She wanted to do everything she could to make her daughter have a great time. They left for the festival, and headed to Lukes, so they could get some coffee. They walked around the park and looked at the lights, and ate the food. Then Sookie ran up and she needed to talk to Lorelai about a fight that she had with Jackson. Lorelai didn’t want to leave Rory alone, but Rory insisted that she go talk with Sookie. Rory spotted a bench and took a seat. ‘what a great summer this turned out to be, my first boyfriend breaks up with me, I ruined everything with Tristan, and now lane is missing the festival’ Just then her someone comes up to her and asks if the seat next to her is taken. She looks up: “dean! no, sit down.” she tells him, happy to see him “so... how are you?” “I'm alright i guess.” she answers “no offense rory, but you don’t seem alright, just because we broke up, doesn’t mean that we can’t be friends and talk to each other.” “thank you dean.” rory smiled “so, what's on your mind?” he asked They talked for a while and rory felt comfortable with dean, like he was one of her best friends. She told him about what happened with Tristan. And how she had feeling for him and she ruined everything. Just then the fireworks show began, and Rory and Dean watched in amazement at the colors that lit up the sky. Rory looked away from the fireworks and into a crowd of people, they were just beginning to split apart, and she could see a yellow rose in somebodies hand. As she looked up at the persons face, her heart skipped a beat. She had a huge smile on her face. She looked over at Dean, who saw her smile and the guy holding the flower. “go” he said smiling. He was happy to see her smiling She got up and made her way through the crowd of people until she stood in front of him. “I’m sorry..” she tried to tell him but before she could, he leaned in and kissed her. It was amazing, the fireworks finale had just begun and the sky was lighting up with dozens of colors at a time. “I love you Rory Gilmore.” he whispered in her ear as the fireworks began to end. “I love you too Tristan DuGrey.” She smiled as she saw the final fireworks go off, and then the sky was dark again. I don’t know if I should continue the story with them returning to school...or maybe just end it here. I would really appreciate if you would give me your opinion. Thank You and I hope you liked my story.
