"Tristans Chance"
pt 1

This story starts off right after the episode were Rory tries to set Paris up with Tristan and were Rory and Tristan are beginning to become friends. PG.

Monday morning 8:00 at Chilton:

Rory arrived at school right on time. She was a little hesitant to talk to Tristan because of what he had said the day before. It wasn't that he said he liked someone else and then said yeah right I still like Summer it was the look he gave her when Summer was her response. She felt weird and knew it would get worse if she avoided him. She didn't she him all morning. At lunch she finally saw him and tried to go up to him but saw the he was talking with Destiny a junior. She waited for her to leave and then went up to him. She was feeling better now that she had seen him talking to another girl.

He turned around and saw her. "Hey Rory, what's up?" he said.

"Oh not much I saw you talking to Destiny is that her?" questioned Rory.

Tristan replied, "Her who?"

"You know the girl you like? She's really pretty and I hear that she is smart too good choice."

Tristan just looked at her.

She was beginning to feel uncomfortable again when Tristan spoke up, "Yeah that's her I just didn't think she would like me because of the way I use to act around her I mean I was really rude to her when she first came but now were becoming friends and I asked her out for Friday,"

"Wow Tristan that's really great I hope you have a good time." Rory began to feel something she knew would complicate everything. She was jealous, jealous of Destiny the girl with the perfect grades, and perfect hair, and know the perfect date. She realized that she had really liked Tristan since the night he had kissed her and know she felt as though it were too late.

Tristan house later that night:

Tristan was walking around his room trying to figure out how he could tell Rory that Destiny was not the girl of his dreams that she was but from the way she acted at school today he was beginning to feel that there was no hope. He looked and the clock and realized that it was time for call Destiny to make plans with Destiny.

Tuesday Chilton 8:00

It was announced that there would be a dance that Friday for all the students of Chilton. After the announcement all Rory could think about was if Tristan was going to be there with Destiny or not. She knew he would be able to tell that she was jealous if they were there together. She was trying to avoid him when Tristan came up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hey Rory" he said, "Did you hear about the dance? Are you going to go?"

It was all she could do to keep from sounding like she wanted him to ask her.

"I'm not really sure yet it sounds like fun and all I just don't know"

"Well tell me if you change your mind I'm going with Destiny but I'll save you a dance" he gave one of his million dollar smiles and left.

Rory melted. She was so upset and yet now she had to go.

Rory's Home Thursday night

"Mom come on we have to go to the store, I have to get a dress to wear."

Lorelai came downstairs and said, "Honey why is this so important It's just a Chilton party no big deal remember you don't like these kids there mean, snotty, and they get up early on Saturdays to do fund-raisers. They are weird,"

"Mom just because they get up early on the day of pre-rest does not make them weird. Now lets go"

"Oh there's someone you want to impress Awww!"

"Mom stop that there is not I just want to look nice, OK?"

"Fine away we go"

And with that they left and headed out to shop. On the way there they stopped at Luke's. Lorelai walked in and Rory followed. There was something odd though. Someone who didn't belong. It was Tristan Rory saw him the minute she walked in and tried to pretend that she didn't see him. It didn't work and Tristan came over to Rory. Lorelai noticed Tristan and thought that he looked like a nice boy who didn't own a motorcycle. She saw him walk up to Rory and say hi. She was beginning to understand why Rory wanted a new dress. She could tell Rory liked this boy by the way she was so shy and how her cheeks flushed as she talked to him. She walked over and introduced herself since it had seemed that Rory could not remember her name. ( A little odd since it is the same as hers but hey she really like him its OK).

She said "Hi I'm Lorelai, Rorys mother"

"Hello Miss Gilmore, I'm Tristan Dugray I go to school with your Daughter."

"Its nice to meet you and please call me Lorelai Miss Gilmore makes me feel like I should be in a nursing home somewhere, and just wondering what are you doing so far from Hartford?"

Tristan laughed, "I just got a new car and I thought I would just test it out and ended up here so I got some coffee"

"Rory I like this kid he knows where to get coffee at. Tristan you came to the right place this is the best coffee in town,"

"Umm Mom I think we should be going "

"Oh yes we have to go find you that dress for the Dance Friday I almost forgot,"

"Yes well now I have reminded you so lets go. Good-bye Tristan."

Tristan said good-bye and smiled now he would have the perfect chance to tell her how he felt since she was going to the dance.
