Don't ask me where I'm going with this. :) It was just an idea I had. Hey--anyone wanna help me write it? It could be fun.

Gilmore Girls Soap Opera
Summary: The entire town except Rory has gone completely 'Days of Our Lives' and she no has clue what in the world is happening.
Rory yawned as she made her way to the kitchen. Her day was already all planned out. Breakfast, school, home, sleep. It sounded extremely inviting after the intense week of learning she'd just been through. She was just grateful it was Friday and that the weekend had at last arrived.
"So you've got them, right? Fine. Don't mess this up for me..."
Rory heard her mother's hushed voice in the next room and furrowed her eyebrows. Since when was anything so secret in the Gilmore house? She didn't have much time to wonder, though, as Lorelai entered the kitchen just a few seconds later.
"Morning," she greeted her mother cheerfully, eyes on the toaster, waiting for her Pop-Tarts to pop.
"Good morning, darling," Lorelai answered back breezily.
Rory raised her eyebrows slightly. "Darling? Are you channeling Grandma this morning or something?" She looked up at her mother and nearly gasped out loud. "Mom," she managed to say. "You look so....so...." She finally clamped down on her lip, unable to think of anything.
Lorelai was dressed in an obviously very expensive silk robe with matching slippers. Her hair was done up in a very elegant chignon for 6:20 in the morning, with new blonde streaks running through it, and her makeup was perfect, only there was about ten extra layers of it.
"What's wrong, dear?" Lorelai inquired absently, brushing a piece of non-existant lint off her top.
"Um, nothing, I guess," Rory said cautiously, "I mean, you look a little...." At a loss for words, she wrinkled her nose and motioned towards her own face.
Lorelai looked alarmed. "What?" She produced a compact from somewhere inside her robe and studied her face. She gasped. "Oh my! You're completely right. I can't believe this!" She paused for a long moment-why, Rory had no idea-- and then grabbed a lipstick from the counter where it just happened to have been sitting conveniently. As Rory looked on in utter confusion, Lorelai smeared another coat of lipstick over her already gleaming lips.
"Better?" She asked Rory urgently. Rory opened and closed her mouth, but no sound came out. Thankfully, just then the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Lorelai shouted, then seemed embarrassed. "I mean," she amended in a much calmer voice, "that's for me. Rory, dear, go dress for academy." She breezed out to house's entrance.
*Academy?* Rory thought. She followed her mother's path instead, pausing just before the corner. She peered around, feeling weird for spying on her mother, but feeling even weirder about whoever had just been in her kitchen and what she had done with Lorelai.
Lorelai took a deep breath as the doorbell rang again. She primped her hair a few times before saying loudly, "Ok, Lorelai, just think here. Don't panic. There's nothing to worry about. Nobody suspects a thing. Just finish this up, and then you'll have everything you've ever wanted. All you have to do, is keep everyone from finding out."
Rory was starting to get seriously wigged. This was beyond weird. It was like, Twilight Zone weird.
As she watched, Lorelai finally opened the door and ran her hands down over her robe to smooth it. Rory almost sighed with relief when she saw Luke standing there. Maybe he would sober up whatever drug was making Lorelai act this way.
"Luke," Lorelai said in a breathy voice. "Oh! I wasn't expecting company. And I'm not even dressed!"
There was another huge pause, the two of them staring intensely at one another, and then suddenly, Lorelai flung herself into Luke's arms. Rory could only watch, shell-shocked, as the two locked themselves in a heated kiss.
