Nine year-old Jonathon Frost, Bobbie's son, took Grand Prize in a geography contest called "Where in the World is Carmen Colorado" at Grandview High School on December 11th!  The contest, sponsored by the Grandview High School DECA organization, put students from Jonathon's school, Pine Lane Intermediate, against Timberline Elementary.  The contest consisted of various rounds of geography bingo, trivia, and "map-walking", where Jonathon and a Timberline student were required to stand on a large map of the Northern Hemisphere in response to clues about to what country Carmen Colorado traveled next.

Jonathon participated in all three contests.  He did not score a bingo, although Pine Lane did win the bingo round.  When his team came up for the trivia round, though, Jonathon began to shine!  He answered more questions than any other student and the audience, consisting mostly of parents and high school student sponsors, showed their amazement at his talent!  Then, in the map-walking round, Jonathon only missed one question, and the ones he answered, he did so with confidence!  He won that round all by himself!

At the end of the contest, many prized were awarded for victorious teams and individuals.  Jonathon was awarded the Grand Prize, which was a Carmen Sandiego board game and a novel with a geographic theme!  His friends were calling his a "walking encyclopedia."  He studied hard and found out where some of his talents lie.  Although he was a little nervous before the competition, he kept his cool and made his classmates and his teacher, Ms. Ashworth, very proud!
