Forget the economy! Forget the Stock Market! Rejoice in the budget concessions! Now that the excitement of Lunar New Year has come to an end, we can turn our attention to the forthcoming Olympic party. This can certainly apply to 67 year old Hiroshi Hoketsu who is even now flexing his muscles as he prepares to take part in the equestrian event in Hong Kong. The South China Morning Post of 12 February quotes him as saying, "I feel relieved. If you have a goal, you can stay young. It would be good if people of my generation [felt] the same." -- (The quotation is from Lawrence Binyon's poem, "For the Fallen," 1914.) V. © The Gilvern Times, February 2008.
