1851 James Gillespie born 1819 - 1851..  His wife Agnes McKellar. Children  Duncan, Mary, Jessie. All buried at Cromarty Presbyerian Cemetery, Hibbert Twp.[Note: A second death record for James Gillespie for same locations  lists July 13, 1895, age 76 yrs, native of Glasgow, Scotland]
WENTWORTH COUNTY & CITY OF HAMILTON

1841, April 7. On Tuesday, 25th ult. Robert Gillespie of Dundas, age 34, was accidentally shot while on a hunting excursion. He was a native of Westport, County Mayo, Ireland. For the last six years he worked in the shop of James Smith, tailor of Dundas. His mother and younger sister reside at Newport Pratt, County Mayo (Other record indicates death date of March 21)

1845 Fanny Gillespie died aged 52 yrs. Others in same plot. Hamilton Cemetery.

1857, April 9  Aggie Gillespie, buried Hamilton Cemetery with family of Hugh Gillespie of 156 Herkimer Street, Hamilton. Many others in family plot.

1857, June 9  Ann Gillespie died age 25 yrs. Others in plot. Hamilton Cemetery.

1866, April 16 In memoriam Arch'd Gillesby died age 74 yrs. Buried Hamilton Cemetery. Others in plot.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY

"Notes from Families, Past & Present, London Twp"  "Rebecca (1838) Lipsett, third issue, married John Birrell Gillespie of the Chatham area. He was killed in a barn raising near Ivan when the children were small. Becky's brother built her a home in Ilderton.  Their children were Eliza, Ralph, William, and James."       No death record found yet to confirm this history.
