GILLESPIE RESEARCHERS
ISLE OF ISLAY, SCOTLAND INDEX

These  researchers are tracing the lineage of Gillespie families who emigrated from  one island off the coast of Scotland  to Ontario, Canada. There are links also to the United States, and some other areas, not yet identified
Bonnie Cameron Corrigan -
Archibald Gillespie married Rachel Patterson on the Isle of Islay. Their daughter, Catherine (b. 1801) married Angus Cameron in 1822. They emigrated with five children to Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.

Malcolm Campbell, England

My great, great, grandfather, William Campbell of Octomore, Islay, married Margaret Gillespie of Kilnave in 1826. There is no sign of the family after the 1841 census.

Sharlee Hughes, Utah
Seeking information about Archibald Gillespie, especially Angus Gillespie b. 1787 Islay who moved to Canada in 1836 to settle in the Creemore, Simcoe County area.

Roger Bainbridge
Also researching the family of Angus Gillespie in Creemore, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada

Neil Gillespie
Seeking information about Donald Gillespie 1783 Conisby, Islay  I am descended through his son, John b. 1822 Kilchoman Parish. Possible link to Canada.

Gordon Gillespie, Ontario
I
am a descendant of Duncan Gillespie and Margaret who emigrated from Islay to Victoria & Ontario Counties in Ontario, Canada.

Richard Sheil, New York
I am trying to prove the lineage of Christiana Gillespie (1819-1853)  who married Alexander McMillan. They settled in Cannington and Mariposa areas of Central Ontario, Canada. Probable link to Donald Gillespie & Isabella McVicar of Islay, Scotland (?parents).

Flo Atherley, Ontario
I
am tracing Alexander Gillespie of Otter Lake, whose parents (Duncan and Margaret Gillespie) may have settled in Woodville, Ontario
Barbara Wyatt            Donald Gillespie & Isabella McVicar

Donna Alden-Bugden   Ann Gillespie & Archibald Currie  to  Saskatchewan via Bruce & Simcoe Counties. Now Pilot Mound, Manitoba
