Why is it so toxic?
Botox or botulism is a form of food poisoning that occurs when someone eats something containing a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium clostridum botulinum.
How does this Toxin Work?
The botulinum toxins (there are seven, the types are A through G) and they attach themselves to nerve endings. Once this happens, acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter responsible for triggering muscle contrations, cannot be released. This causes wrinkles to be prevented. This toxin stops all signals from telling a muscle to move. If the toxin is used in the right proportions the Botox will stay in the muscle that has been injected. It is safe to use as long as it is in small amounts. The most serious symptom of botulinum is paralysis, which in some cases can be fatal.
How Botox has affected the society we live in today
Botox, and other cosmetics like it have completely changed the aging process. It is often said that Botox is the magic stop sign to wrinkles. It has had a major impact on the society we live in today, for the better or for the worst is up to you. No matter where you go you will find that addiction has become an issue however, there are some people that just do it every once in a while. In the end Botox has made an impact not only on women but men too. Its only the beginning of many more inventions to come.
