Trail Status
As of Monday, December 24th, 2001
the AC line (KN36) from Gillam to Wivenhoe is groomed.
The AC Line(KN36) from Radisson to Wivenhoe is groomed.
The DC Line from Radisson to Banana Lakes is Groomed.
The trail between the DC Line and the AC Line located by Wivenhoe is almost
groomed through.
December 31rst 2001
Hi, Due to a mechanical failure on the groomer, the DC line will be
groomed to the kettle lakes on December 31rst. FINISHED
The trail from Gillam to Banana Lakes and the DC Line will be groomed today.
FINISHED. Thank goodness as this trail was quite rough last week when a co-worker and I
went out for a ride.
The AC line was a very nice ride towards Wivenhoe last Friday night after the
fresh snowfall. GREAT RIDE!!! And all the Caribou sightings were
also very nice !!!
The Butnua trail and the x-over trails to the AC Line will be done in
January. FINISHED
Feb 1rst 2002
Feb 2nd, some of the plans have changed. Instead of grooming from
Wivenhoe to Ilford and then to Kelsey via the AC Line, we will take a different
route to Kelsey. Reason: There is work being done to the line in
this area, and the winter road to Kelsey is now going to be plowed.
We
now plan on Grooming from the Wivenhoe/AC line junction, over to the DC Line warm-up
shack.( 7 Miles) We will then have the groomer proceed south-west
down the DC Line till it hits the North Central Project Line. (Approx 25
Miles) From there it will proceed from this junction, up the North Central
Line to Kelsey. (approx (30) Miles). This work should proceed
February 1rst. Return is expected on February 2nd.(Total 100 Miles
from Gillam)
Feb 12th
The North Central Line was not groomed due to thin ice on a river.
Only 8 inches which is not enough for the groomer. Therefore there is
about 30 miles to Kelsey going this route that is not groomed. The last 7
miles of this line toward kelsey is a winter road as I understand it.
The Cross over trail from AC Line/Bruderers trail to the DC Line has been pushed
through. There is now another connection between the DC and AC
Lines. The last Mile of it towards the DC Line may be a bit rough as it
was Buldozed to the ground. Yesterdays snow will sure help it out
though. It is not groomed at this time.
