"I hate these kind of parties." AJ complained. "These are so boring, and we have to dress like this!" He said pointing at his suit jacket with disgust.
"Oh, but you look so cute!" Brian complimented with a high pitched girly voice.
"Come on, guys." Kevin said standing up, "We're supposed to be nice and mingling."
AJ looked around the room, "Okay, how about if I leave, mingle with different people, and be nice?"
Howie smiled, "Then you're taking away all our fun watching you suffer, AJ." He remarked patting his shoulder.
Nick shook his head; "I don't blame AJ." He confessed, "I don't like these things either."
AJ nodded, "See?" He questioned. "Even Nick agrees with me."
Kevin rolled his eyes, "Yeah, and think of the age difference between you two as well."
They laughed lightly at the small joke and AJ's eyes narrowed on Nick's smiling face. "That was a dig at both of us, Nick." He informed tightly.
"Three years is not all that much." Nick sniffed defensively.
This time, AJ rolled his eyes. "Let's just get this over with." He sighed as they stepped away from the door and into the room already filled with people dressed in their expensive suits and dresses.
"Did your girlfriends all of a sudden decide to abandon you all tonight?" Nick asked as they walked slowly.
AJ smirked, "You couldn't pay them to come to one of these without becoming broke for the rest of our lives." He shook his head in wonderment, "And I thought chicks liked these type of things."
"The mysteries of the female race." Howie edged in dryly.
"All right y'all." Kevin said smiling, "Disperse and mingle."
"Nicely." He added when they all grumbled and started to split up.
Still sulking over the fact that he was here, AJ walked away from the crowd and towards the door where all the waiters and waitresses were coming out of. Stepping into the kitchen he smiled at the tray of food and the shouting of orders from several different people.
"Finally you get here!" A voice said sarcastically behind him.
Momentarily stunned, AJ turned around slowly and found himself in front of a short woman whose eyes were spitting fire. "You extra waiters were supposed to have been here over half an hour ago." She stated as she started walking.
When AJ remained standing where he was, she turned and gave him a dark look. "Planning on working tonight or just standing there and letting everyone else do it?"
A smile quirked on his lips and he followed her. Allowing her to place a tray of a crab… assortment in his hands he was whistling when he left the room, a white towel placed on his forearm.
